iPhone 12 Pro Notifications with no sound or alert of any kind

I set up my new phone however I don't get any notifications to create a sound or haptics when I receive them. I've reset my settings after getting frustrated, restarted the phone, made sure to select sounds for each notification, set the notification preview to 'always', made sure it's not on mute and the volume is up yet I can't get my phone to tell me that anything has come in until I look at the home screen only to find i've received a bunch of notifications.

I get calls on the phone just fine but texts, discord, emails, etc. NO notification that anything has been received. I've spent hours pouring through the settings and nothing helps.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

My hubby got his iPhone 12 Pro on Saturday. He wanted to change the tone for my text messages. When I sent him a test text NO SOUND! (NOTE: neither of us own an Apple Watch.). I spent an hour checking/changing every sound setting I could think of. Finally, I opened the TEXT app, then swiped left on my name. Saw the problem immediately. The big blue MUTE box didn’t have the diagonal line through it, meaning MUTE was enabled for ALL MY TEXT MESSAGES. I hit the MUTE button, the diagonal line appeared. Sent him a test text. WE HAVE SOUND!

Having same problem with new IPhone 12 Pro Max. No sounds or alerts work or sound. We also have IPhone 12 Pro and it’s working fine. So it must be the Max that’s having issues? We did a shutdown and restart and it fixed the problem on the Pro Max. We’ll see if it stays that way. But if you haven’t, try turning off the phone and then powering back up.

I’ve been having this same problem and it’s incredibly frustrating as it doesn’t notify me that I’ve gotten a message. I wouldn’t even know I got a text unless I go on the messaging app directly and check whoever I was texting to see their response. I’ve gone through all of the settings and made sure everything was set and turned on yet still nothing.... Apple please fix this!

I just purchased an iPhone 12 pro and am having the same problem of no audible alerts for texts and no audible voice for Siri even though you can see Siri is working by the active swirl.

None of the fixes above have worked.

We rely on these phones for our businesses.

Very disappointing and considering jumping off the Apple ship unless they have a fix this week.

you don't have to turn off bluetooth. The people saying that are not realizing that they are prob connected to a speaker or something. i noticed its mostly when using other apps and/or not closing imessage all the way - def an apple issue and don't let them say its not - people are getting wrong answers by talking about they watch n stuff. well i dont have a watch so its not that

I have the same issue - intermittent sound alerts on my iPhone 12 for text messages. I’ve checked all my sound settings and they are fine. I don’t have an Apple Watch. I have an iPad that also receives my iMessages, and I *think* that the sound notifications don’t work on my phone when I’m actively using my iPad, and they work fine when I’m not. I have DND turned on for my iPad. My theory is that Apple detects you’re active on one device so it uses that device’s notification settings (in this case, do not disturb on my iPad). It’s really annoying and I hope they fix it!

I truly regret "Upgrading" to the 12Pro from my 8.... Apple is well aware of this issue. I've spent hours on the phone with different levels of support, and one tech confessed to me the Engineers are aware of the problem. Frankly speaking I believe we 12 owners have been written off as there is already an iPhone 13 being touted. I'm ready to go back to Windows and Android and give up on Apple.
