iPhone 12 Pro Notifications with no sound or alert of any kind

I set up my new phone however I don't get any notifications to create a sound or haptics when I receive them. I've reset my settings after getting frustrated, restarted the phone, made sure to select sounds for each notification, set the notification preview to 'always', made sure it's not on mute and the volume is up yet I can't get my phone to tell me that anything has come in until I look at the home screen only to find i've received a bunch of notifications.

I get calls on the phone just fine but texts, discord, emails, etc. NO notification that anything has been received. I've spent hours pouring through the settings and nothing helps.

I’ve been having this same problem and it’s incredibly frustrating as it doesn’t notify me that I’ve gotten a message. I wouldn’t even know I got a text unless I go on the messaging app directly and check whoever I was texting to see their response. I’ve gone through all of the settings and made sure everything was set and turned on yet still nothing.... Apple please fix this!

And to add clarification this only happens with the device locked on SMS messages. If the device is unlocked everything is fine. If the device is locked it works if I get a text from other iPhone users. If bluetooth is off it works all the time for SMS. So it's something to do with bluetooth, SMS and the device being locked.

I had to totally restore the phone and start from scratch to get this to work. If I used a backup it would not work. I did notice if I had my Contacts turned off in iCloud it worked as well as having bluetooth off it would work. Also if I was completely signed out of iCloud it worked but my Wife then couldn't text me very well. I am still loading apps and such so not confident yet. Very frustrating.

Just an update: if I sign out of iCloud I can get it to work fine. The instant I sign into iCloud it goes from working to working sometimes and not very often. Again, my Wife's 8+ works fine. Also still if I turn off bluetooth it works fine. So it's either sign out of icloud or turn off bluetooth. .....or got back to Android.

Couple things to try but they are not "fixes". Turn off Bluetooth and try it. Also try signing out of iCloud. You will need to make sure you go into Messages and FaceTime and the AppStore and Music to log in with your Apple ID but do not sign into iCloud. It's stupid but whenever I am signed into iCloud with my ID it hardly works. But if I log into Messages, FaceTime, etc., with my Apple ID but log into iCloud with my Wife's ID it works just fine. Honestly I will be going back to Droid. This was my first iPhone since the iPhone 4 came out and I have had it for 4 months and am ready to dump it.

Same issue here as others. Using iPhone 12 pro max with iOS 14.6 installed. All notifications are enabled, do not disturb is not active, have reset phone at least 10x's in last month. My company iphone11 notifications work as they should. On my iPhone 12 I miss calls, texts everyday as there is zero alert. Both phones on iOS 14.6.

Apple? Are you listening??

My 2 month old 12 mini with 14.6 recently stopped giving text alerts. BUT if I restart my phone, it works a again for a bit then gets fainter & fainter & then stops until I restart again. No sound in text alert settings either BUT ringer works in real life & in ringer alert settings. Seems crazy I know but it’s become an ongoing issue that only restarting seems to fix (for a short time). Really hoping next update addresses these issues!

I have been able to fix my no text notification…it was related to my iWatch…go to iWatch app on phone select notifications, then scroll to messages, next deselect mirror iPhone and select custom, then deselect allow notification and select send to notifications center. Now getting alerts on phone and watch! Hallelujah!

It has been a year since this issue was reported to Apple. Is there no fix? My iphone 12 mini bought July 2021 has had haphazard sound notifications at best. I don't change any settings and all of a sudden I get a few sound notifications, when just a few moments before-nothing.

Sound is on, turned up, sound alert notifications are on. I do not own an apple watch. Bluetooth on/off does not fix this nor do the lack of sound alerts have anything to do with my laptop imessage being open/on/active on my laptop (this was never previously an issue with desktop + phone on older models).

Please help this is ridiculous for a new phone. It has all the latest updates.
