iPhone 12 Pro Notifications with no sound or alert of any kind

So glad i found this post. I called multiple times and they made me seem I was the one with the problem. I even took it to an apple store where they ran a diagnostic and was told nothing wrong with hardware or software. I rebooted, reset, updated the phone individually and attached to my MacBook. I did a screenshare with 2 different apple support people, who triggered buttons on and off that were already triggered on and off by other apple support people. Everything worked and then it would happen again. I have an iPhone 11 pro max and if this is happening with other phones, i am not surprised they did not offer to replace it. Hopefully they fix it soon. It would help if someone at least acknowledged there was an issue as opposed to pretending one is imagining it.

I have tried all the options listed in this stream to get notified of texts. Just doesn't work. Not only frustrating, but dangerous as I have family members with health risks/issues and texts are used for alerts/communications. Apple knows this is a problem and needs to issue a release to fix this bug ASAP!

I have the same issue. I Messaged Apple support and they are not aware of the problem according to the person I talked to. They said that this is a group for people to talk and they don’t address the issues. So I think everyone should submit the issue via Apple support text/ or chat. They only came up with me resetting my phone when it happens.

It might help. Because I don’t think restarting my phone solved the problem. It works for now but I know i will still miss messages. Because I tried that before and it was just a temp fix. I do have a open support case.

I have been having the same issue as well but my husband has not and we have the same phone (new iPhone 12 Pro). I noticed I was missing notifications for text messages quite a bit and thought at first I just wasn’t hearing it. Now today I found this thread. I have tried everything to fix it based on this post and nothing works! Needs to be fixed ASAP!

Totally agree! If I'd known this was a limitation, I wouldn't have spent $ on the iPhone 12 and just stuck with my iPhone 8. Having notifications on the watch and iphone is a basic need and feature. Losing capabilties should never be part of an upgrade!

I don't have an iWatch yet I'm not receiving notification sounds. All of the sounds are set for the different types of communication such as ringtone, text tone, new mail etc, but all it does is vibrate when they come in.

Is it really possible that one of the most expensive phones on the market is unable to reproduce sound when a message comes in? That's quite astonishingly bad!

I see the “answers” that it’s a setting between the Apple Watch and the iPhone, and I get that, but it’s not an answer. I want to receive the vibration on both my watch and my phone because sometimes I don’t notice the watch vibrate, but I would notice the phone. Is there a way to turn that feature off?

Oh my goodness how horrible. I have the iPhone 12. I have received all my texts and messages with sound on both phone and watch. I am sorry that did not fix it for you. You for sure need your notifications.

I just got the 12 pro max and I’m not getting most notifications either. I have been talking to a sr. Person at Apple and no resolution. I was having other problems which are now resolved. I have spent so many hours on the phone with them. It’s so frustrating! Need to contact her again tomorrow and I’m going to let her know I’m seeing comments about issues.

Have we gotten any closer to resolving this issue brand new iPhone 12 doesn’t let me know when I’m getting texts! I use this phone for work and sometimes missing texts and notifications is not an option?

When I spoke with Apple support on Twitter, they said it was a new feature. I said what are you going to do next, send me an email when I get a phone call?

ios14.4 will be out around the 15th. Let’s hope there is a fix in that update.

Turning off Bluetooth as the answer is not an answer at all. Many of us need Bluetooth on because of syncing with the car. Also, it’s sort of silly that anyone suggests the answer is flipping the silence button on and off on the left side. That’s an elementary phone use skill unless you’re my 91 year old Dad!

Still doesn't work for mine. Notifications are totally random ... some sounds play sometimes, some contacts play sometimes, sometimes they don't. No rhyme or reason or fix has been permanent. Apple ... do better.
