iPhone 12 Pro Notifications with no sound or alert of any kind

I set up my new phone however I don't get any notifications to create a sound or haptics when I receive them. I've reset my settings after getting frustrated, restarted the phone, made sure to select sounds for each notification, set the notification preview to 'always', made sure it's not on mute and the volume is up yet I can't get my phone to tell me that anything has come in until I look at the home screen only to find i've received a bunch of notifications.

I get calls on the phone just fine but texts, discord, emails, etc. NO notification that anything has been received. I've spent hours pouring through the settings and nothing helps.

I’ve been having this same problem and it’s incredibly frustrating as it doesn’t notify me that I’ve gotten a message. I wouldn’t even know I got a text unless I go on the messaging app directly and check whoever I was texting to see their response. I’ve gone through all of the settings and made sure everything was set and turned on yet still nothing.... Apple please fix this!

I upgraded to the iPhone 12 Pro Max in September 2021 and I'm having the same problem. I have been on the phone three times with Apple support. The Apple support representative and I tried everything the engineers asked to try to no avail. The Apple engineers just can't seem to figure it out. I am scheduled for a call back this Friday, Nov. 26, 2021. This seems to be an inherent problem with the iPhone 12. Very disappointing as I have been a lifelong Apple fan and customer. I'll report what transpires.

This is offensive and insulting! I have owned Apple iPhones since forever and I know about the tactile switch :-(

My problem is intermittent text and calendar AUDIBLE notifications. I've been on the phone with Apple Support 5 times and the Apple Engineers cannot solve the problem. The Apple Support representative and I are giving the Apple Engineers one more shot at the problem. After that, I'm will be getting a new iPhone.

If you go into notifications - Mail - Customise - click on your account, you will then find additional options to turn on alerts and select sounds, in which case if the alerts are off, all other notification settings will not activate, this is most likely the problem if you have checked all other possibilities within the settings menu.

Thanks, I'll it a try. But I do get audible text notifications from unknown senders (spam texts) than from known senders! I spoke to my Apple Support representative last Tuesday and he is notifying the Apple Engineers which is now up to the next level engineers. To review, it's not that I don't get any audible text notifications, I get intermittent audible text notifications. For instance, my daughter will text me, I hear it and respond. As I'm holding my phone, she will respond and I will see it but no audible notification. That's my dilemma. I have a phone appointment with my Apple Support representative this coming Saturday. Let's see what happens.

Thanks for your input but why should you have to do this with a $1000+ phone? One would expect a brand new phone should function flawlessly. Early on during this ordeal, the Apple Advisor had me try that to no avail. My case has gone to the next level Apple Engineers, still no solution. I apparently have a defective iPhone 12 Pro Max. I don't think a hard reset will work and the Apple Engineers have not suggested that. I started with the iPhone 3 and this is the first iPhone that has given me problems. Good thing I always buy Apple Care for all my Apple products.
