Apple doesn't monitor this forum/thread.
Thank you.
Firmware issues are often a source of WiFi difficulties.
If it were the phone, this wouldn’t be the case:
Wanna trade phones?
I’ll keep router thank you it’s up to date
I
Check for firmware updates for your WiFi router/access point.
I certainly don't see that.
The phone will connect to the strongest signal if given a choice. And 2.4 GHz has much greater range than 5 GHz. So it may be related to where you are relative to the router.
I am less than 10 feet away at most times. I am using an Apple Airport tIme capsule 802.11ac.
See if there’s a software update for the time capsule.
This has been done on my end. I also turned off wifi assist and all my 2.4 g settings are off, forcing my phone to connect to 5 g only.
still getting same results.
I tested the same as you with the same results. This is inexcusable from Apple. Waiting to see if their will be a software change as I cannot believe this is hardware related.
Also getting slow WiFi every other device is getting full speed using ax1100 ASUS
This option worked for me. I've got an Eero 6 so don't have the 2.4/5 option. Not sure how risky it is to turn off the private address so here's hoping Apple has a fix in the works.
There is no risk turning off private address on your own router. It’s to protect your identity using “foreign” routers.
No I meant flipping off the private address setting on the IPhone itself. That is what’s working for me right now.
OK, let me reword: There is no risk turning off private address on your phone when connecting to your own router. It’s to protect your identity using “foreign” routers.
I have the same problem. Im trying to get even voice call over wifi with my new iphone 12 pro max Its not good at least like my iphone 11. Thinking if its an issue with hardware or software
