Can you please let me know how to set the CALCULATOR on the widget??
That was really important and useful widget but I can't find it.
I hope please I can't just find it. If not, I can't understand developers for this OS 😁

I hope it will come back one day, but it was already getting worse and worse: In the last OS versions it had no more memory when the sidebar was closed and reopened again. This was also very annoying.
Somebody here left the tipp to use spotlight instead and I'm bound to say that I still miss the GUI but this works very fine for me. Because the spotlight (just type in the calculation) works above every window even in full screen mode, like the sidebar was before. The calculator app doesn't.

I added a shortcut to open it quickly ! You can follow this tuto, it is pretty easy to do ;)
Of all the widgets that was the most useful. And you remove it? Seriously?
Also, just bringing up the widgets is suddenly more complicated. I used to just swipe the trackpad on my MacBook Pro or press the center button on my mouse.

The calculator is present in Big Sur but in a new way. Go to applications, calculator.app and open it. It's a very good calculator. If you want quick access, copy it to your doc and you can even have it open when you boot the computer. No need for all the fuss and complications.
This makes no sense to me at all, I still find myself swiping from left to right to pull up my widgets when I want to calculate something and than notice the calculator is gone.... makes no sense why you would get rid of the most useful tool.
Well, back to calculations done in the Spotlight search field or via Calculator.app, I guess
do a spotlight search for calculator.app. it is not a widget anymore
If you put calculator in search, it comes up. You can then PIN it to the DOCK.
Yeah, thank you for the information! But, it's the best way for me to put it on the widget and use a hot-corner!
Yeah, it's frustrating. But your information with multiple lines not erasing would be nice! It's worth I try it!
