I updated to Big Sur on my MacBook Pro yesterday. There don't seem to be any HP printer drivers that are compatible. Now I can't print. Anyone else find a fix? I have tried the drivers I can find on HP site. None seem to be compatible.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried all the options you suggested with no luck, but I finally solved the problem last night. I downloaded and installed Gutenprint as mentioned elsewhere in this thread, and then - this is the important bit - I turned on printer sharing in the system preferences menu. After than the 6l driver appeared and was auto-selected in the driver options menu when re-installing the printer. I hope this helps others to solve the problem. Thanks everyone!
My old Laserjet1320 USB stopped working once Big Sur was installed. driverv5.1 did not work but Gunterprint did.

Rather that reboot to be able to print again try relaunching the Finder thru the ➙ Force Quit menu. See if that will reconnect the printer.
Also boot into Safe Mode by booting with the Shift key held down and check there to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.
NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 10 minutes as it's doing the following;
• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed
• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)
• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically
• Disables user-installed fonts
• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

HP printer problem with Big Sur - try ‘Reset’ - worked for me.
Eventually Easy Admin tool works on my HP Deskjet 2130.
The problem is not only with HP printers. I'm having the same problem with a new Brother printer. I contacted Apple Support and they sent me a list of "compatible printers with Big Sur operating system" and it happens that it is a list that is not being updated. I think the problem is not the printers, it's the Big Sur operating system (version 10.0.1)
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that there does appear to be resolved. I spent two hours trying to understand why my Macbook pro was not printing to my HP 5010 Envy printer. After trying everything I read this post and thought it was to do with the MacOs BigSur, but after trying Airprint from my Iphone and then doing a software update on my Macbook pro both are now printing. This makes me super happy as the printer is new and hardly used. I don't think that the BigSur has an impact on the HP printer.
I downloaded the HP Smart app and that lets me scan from the computer. I can't scan from the printer but at least I can scan.
I bought a 2020 27” 5K iMac in Xmas, and I have an HP8600. I installed HP SMART before any late releases it has been working flawlessly and does even more tasks. :)

OK using Pacifist I reinstalled driverv5.1.
I still get the malware warning dialog box when printing using my old HP 2100; but now that I know it is a false warning, I just click to "ignore" and print my documents.

You would need to "roll back" Big Sur as HP only support up to v 11. You would need to back up and install the previous version Mojave for instance. Even trying to buy a new printer would not support Big Sur.
