Cannot change order of songs in "Play Next" queue

I'm starting to think this is also done on purpose. I called several times Apple support, chatted with apple people, for hours ... none gave me an answer. All said it was "weird" and no resolve. I'm ver disappointed. I work with this feature. Do you know if I can just take away Big Sur and go back to the old program?

I just read through these posts and this is not the same board I posted onto in November 2020 and January 2021. Not sure why the same search didn't bring me to the same board, but the problem is annoying so many that at least two boards are documenting complaints. Apple, I checked your materials and you still advertise that even in Big Sur the user can drag and rearrange songs in the playing next que, so be true to your words and fix the problem.

It’s frustrating. The music app in general is shaky, compared to iTunes from years ago. It’s hard to imagine that they don’t have a team of Music developers that actually use the app. The issues are easy to spot if you are a user. Maybe next update.

The Music app works great (I'm being somewhat facetious as I have the same problem everyone else is having with the Play Next queue) compared to the Podcasts app which barely functions at all on my MacBook Air.

What has happened to Apple? This is not the behavior that made them a great company and the envy of Wall Street. Has anyone had any luck reaching anyone there? Sometimes companies are more responsive to Tweets. That will be my next attempt.

Just did the 11.2.3 Big Sur update - nope, no fix. Apple - get your excrement together! You're REALLY dropping the ball on this issue. Posting in this thread is falling on deaf ears and blind eyes. Where can we voice this bug that an actual development team will truly consider in their tech debt?

When the techs / engineers / geniuses are gonna respond to this? It’s making me really think about not buying further Apple products if this is not addressed. A pity, but if you guys from Apple don’t seem to care and fix this, then we can’t trust your products anymore.

I don't believe they "took it away" as much as it broke along the way and its functionality was never properly repaired.

It is painfully obviously after six pages' worth of complaints on this that the Apple discussion forum is not the place to raise this concern. So where do we go then? Apple? You seriously don't even have a representative keeping an eye on this forum - what the heck?

I sent messages to Apple, talked to their techs, and they even, in theory, sent my complaint to the ingeneers 🙄 ... never got a response.

non of them acknowledge that it was a flaw of the Big Sur. They said they didn’t know why that happened and they didn’t say that there were more people having the same issue.

Just passing by to keep this thread alive while imagining Apple's engineers working hard to fix this iss... Nah, who am I kidding. Team working on Music don't have time for testing software features. I mean, why would anyone ever want to reorder songs they added in the Play Next. It's not their fault if your mood changes while listening and you want to mix up the order.

Right but her supervisors may not have been developers. If the developers are actually looking at this, it will hold more weight. Either way, hoping for the best rather than counting on negatives :)

The first lady escalated me up to a higher tier in support to show them, and then that higher tier support was kicking it up to development. At least that's the impression I got. Hopeful, regardless. :)

I don't see why they would ever *intentionally* remove it. But I certainly don't have knowledge either way. It's their lack of response on this that is shared on either side of the intent equation. Grrrrr

I've worked in product development long enough to know that nothing will come out of those sessions to demonstrate back to you that "you're doing it wrong". It is absolutely broken in this regard. So, anyhow, hopefully Apple has some kind of developer feedback where your call actually gets logged and submitted to the developers. Seeing as though we are on *PAGE 8* of this issue in their forum, I'm gonna assume that they most likely do NOT have this feedback loop in place. :/

I cannot believe the deaf ears this issue falls on within this organization. I am going to start exploring alternatives to housing my music library in iTunes...<ahem>... Music (what a terrible, uncreative name for a product) once again.
