Keyboard Issue on IPhone 12 Pro Max

Have a brand new iPhone 12 max pro and I’ve been using it for roughly two days now. I’ve noticed that when texting or even typing on the internet... even typing this out now.... I have an issue with the keyboard.

I will be typing out words and out of the blue it’ll change from alphabetic mode on the keyboard to the numeric pad. I’m not hitting the 123 button to switch to it. This is very annoying. Words will then be mixed with numbers.

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix? Or did I just get a faulty phone?

For example, I’m typing this out !92 unt8@ some numbers appear. T!8: is very annoying and this 53,5inf how I usually 54,5. I am not hitting the numeric pad with my t$8’v.

Ugh! Tell me there’s hope!

I'm happy to know Im not the only one with the issue. I think I'm going to call support and see what they can do...

I am currently using a third party keyboard. No issues. So it's the default keyboard of the iPhone that's messed up.

How do you reset the keyboard? Just taking it off and putting it back on again? I've tried that and it hasn't worked unfortunately. I'm happy to hear yours worked!

Go to General - Reset - Reset keyboard dictionary. It’s much better than it was. It’s definitely a software glitch I hope they fix soon.

I have similar problems with the keyboard that it suddenly stops registering my input. However, I am thinking of downloading a new keyboard from the Apple store, if they have one there.
