fitness plus not finding watch

When I start a fitness workout in Fitness+ on my iPhone, it is not finding my watch. It says "Apple Watch Unavailable". Both my phone and watch have the latest software updates, the watch is unlocked and Bluetooth is on.

i am having the same issue. My Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone. Even all metrics from Fitness app are updated. Even if I select a fitness program, the Apple Music app is also launched and synchronized.

I have restarted both my phone and watch and is not working.

One thing that I tried was logging out of iCloud on my iPhone, deleting the app, and then reinstalling. And of course it worked. But the issue I've been having is with my iPad not being able to see my Apple Watch. (My iPhone always connects to the Fitness app on my watch.) I've been going back and forth with Apple Support on this issue, which intermittently occurs and can be difficult to repeat. As an experiment, I've taken to turning off my iPhone when launching the fitness app on my iPad. And so far, my iPad sees my Apple Watch. (Really strange.) Another thing I've been testing leaving my iPhone in my bedroom and launching the app on my iPad in my living room. (Here what I'm looking at is whether proximity is somehow playing a factor in the iPad not discovering my Apple Watch through Bluetooth.) These are unusual steps I know. But I suspect the having multiple devices talking to Apple's cloud infrastructure doesn't work as cleanly as they might suggest.

Something that I did was to log out of iCloud on my iPhone, delete the app and reinstall. But my other question has to do with the proximity of your iPhone to your Apple TV when you're unable to connect to the Fitness app through your Apple TV. Is your iPhone nearby? Have you tried turning off or disable the bluetooth on your iPhone when you're trying to connect to your Apple TV? I ask become I'm having a similar problem but with my iPad.

I did log out of iCloud and back in, but that didn't help at all. Because I am able to connect via my iPad and do my fitness from there, I think I will continue in this way. I do want a resolution and will keep my eye on these posts for anything definitive. I feel a solution will come via an update or fix from Apple.

I may have to assemble all of my devices and log out of Apple on each of them!!!! I may just turn off every device that I have and bring each one back up one at a time to see if that clears out the issue or help me identify if it is a device or something within iCloud.

I was having the same issue but I contacted Apple Support. They asked me to go to the Home App in the iPhone that my Apple Watch is paired with. I was a bit skeptical, but it worked! The Home App in the iPhone prompted me to enter the *iPad* passcode. I guess that solved some iCloud keychain issue or something because now I can see the Apple Watch fitness stats while doing Fitness+ workouts everywhere (iPad, iPhone and Apple TV).

I had the same issue on my iPad Air 3rd Generation. It was actually working fine about a week ago. I was having some issues with the iPad so I did a factory reset. After doing said reset, the Fitness Plus was no longer finding my Apple Watch.

It said Watch Currently Unavailable when I would go to start a workout from the iPad. I have the Watch on OS 7.2 and iPad on 14.3 but still wouldn't work. I have the Home app downloaded and it still wouldn't work. Multiple restarts did not work either.

Today, I simply logged out of my iCloud completely on the iPad and then logged back in, after that, everything works fine now.

Indeed! Log out of your Apple Account, which logs you out of iCloud, reboot phone if need be, and when you are logged back in, if your fitness+ doesn't work still, check your subscription to make sure that you still have fitness+ as part of your package. Mine got downgraded for some reason - but was easily able to rectify that by choosing the right plan again.

Hi all, Happy new year.

After 4 hours with the Apple support they could not help me resolve the issue.

What I did after that and worked is:

Unpair Apple Watch

Set up as new Apple Watch.

30 minutes later everything was up and running

Fitness + works like a charm both on my iPhone and Apple TV.

I highly suggest you do that without wasting any time finding another solution.

You don't even loose any health data. The only thing you'll have to do is re-do your notifications for the native apps and personalise your watch faces.

Hope this helps :)
