fitness plus not finding watch

When I start a fitness workout in Fitness+ on my iPhone, it is not finding my watch. It says "Apple Watch Unavailable". Both my phone and watch have the latest software updates, the watch is unlocked and Bluetooth is on.

i am having the same issue. My Apple Watch is connected to my iPhone. Even all metrics from Fitness app are updated. Even if I select a fitness program, the Apple Music app is also launched and synchronized.

I have restarted both my phone and watch and is not working.

Same here. Watch will not connect to fitness+ on my phone even after multiple restarts of both. It will work with my iPad though. Though I don’t want to use my iPad all the time. And I sure as heck am not gonna delete all of my information and re-sync my watch just to use the Apple fitness that should work in the first place. I’ll just use peloton because I know that works 🤷‍♂️

Hello- I had The same problem and tried everything including resetting and unpairing the watch and also resettling it to the initial factory settings and re- pairing the watch again and nothing worked. What I found out is there is actually a software update that is available for the watch. Do an update if you have one available- you will find it on the watch under settings>general >software update. Update the watch and it should fix the problem. Once I did the update everything worked perfectly!

Finally did get this to work. I had to download the Home app to my iphone, and the Fitness app to my Apple TV 4k.

From there I launched the fitness app from Apple TV, and was able to successfully pair my iWatch. I guess I thought I would be able to use the Fitness app from my iphone and screen mirror - that does not work - it won't mirror the workout - only the preview.

Use the Apple TV Fitness app and make sure you have the Home app on your iPhone.

I also had this issue and tried restarting both my AppleWatch and iPhone 11pro many times with no fix. Then I checked for software updates on my AppleWatch and realized I had an update to 7.2 available (also make sure your iPhone is all up to date). After updating my Watch to 7.2 and then restarting both Watch and iPhone after the update, Fitness+ now finds my watch no problem. Hope this helps.

Hello hugsmindy,

I understand your concern about Apple Fitness +. To get the feature on your watch you will have to update to the newest version of watches and your iPhone has to be on iOS 14.3. If you already tried that just out on here that you tried. To update iPhone to go to Settings App ^ General^Software Update^Install. To Update watch Open watch app on your iPhone^ General^Software Update^Install

Once you have tried all of the “turn off the watch, turn off the phone etc”, if the problem persists, try logging out of iCloud and logging in again. Hard to find, you need to go to [settings] -> [profile photo] -> [sign out (at the bottom]. The cloud organises all of your cross device issues so if there’s a glitch there, it affects me things like Fitness+, opening your MacBook etc. If this still doesn’t work last resort reset your watch. However... resetting your watch will not fix the cloud issue so do that first

I spent 1hr and 45min on the phone with Apple Support. I ended the call without a solution because they had no clue (despite their genuine efforts). So far, I've done the following to no avail:

Hard reset of the watch

Turned off watch multiple times

Unpaired watch from phone

Turned off bluetooth multiple times

Deleted fitness app from phone

Reinstalled fitness app to phone

Signed out of icloud

Disconnected bluetooth AirPods

Forgot AirPods from bluetooth settings

Turned off phone multiple times

None of these things worked for me. I have an iPhone 8+ and the second (or third?) generation of Apple Watch. Perhaps it's something to do with the software and the fact that my devices are old. I don't know, and sadly, I don't care anymore. I am so disappointed I have to walk away. 1hr and 45mins and still no one can recommend a solution... (Note: all other BT devices work just fine, Homepods, Apple TV, etc.)

This worked for me! Thank you. And just to give more details for others, I had the fitness+ app open with a workout trying to find my Apple Watch. While my phone was searching for my Apple Watch, I opened the settings on my Apple Watch, one to the bluetooth, and toggled the bluetooth off then back on. The fitness+ app was able to find my watch when I did this. Thank you to hugsmindy for this suggestion!
