iphone 12 Pro Max Still Ringing in Silent Mode

I wouldnt do a complete reset! I only had to do a settings reset which doesnt wipe your phone out and it works also!

Resetting all settings worked for me so far. It’s been almost a week.

I have had success so far with resolving this problem for 10 days now after resetting all settings.

I can confirm that resetting the settings worked for me! Mine rang while on silent since I bought it in December and I could never find an answer. I decided to look here once again to see if anyone figured it out. Thank you so much for the help!!!!

New update didn’t help. It’s a software issue. I downloaded the ringtone called “silent” and have set that as my default as a “work around”. This issue is certainly not going away and at some point it will either get addressed or things may get ugly and expensive for apple.

iOS 14.4 now available. I’ll try this.

I did a hard reset and it works fine. Apple support that I talked to had not heard of the problem. Good luck.

You need to update iOS first then reset your phone. It worked for me.

Have you tried resetting all of your settings again? I know it’s ridiculous we have to do this.

Same issue since 14.3 update and I had also initiated the back tap. Turned it off and hopefully it’s fixed until the new update. Apple please help. This is when the phone is ringing when on silent. Lately I’ve been turning it off to be safe.

I think the answer is no because i have updated my iphone 12 yesterday to ios 14.4 and facing the same issue on unknown number calls and randomly sometimes even i have reached to apple support they suggested for factory reset i have done that too still it persist i think its update bug because i was not facing that issue since ios 14.2. If someone facing same with 14.4 let me know

I updated my phone to the newest software, and I still had two calls come through yesterday, one was a Robo caller and one was someone on my contact list. I would encourage all of you to call Apple support and establish a case number because when I spoke with two different Apple representatives yesterday they said that they had not heard of this issue but it appears to be a fairly uniform issue with the new iPhone 12 ‘s, both the regular version and the promax version. Very frustrating. I asked them if they ever read these discussions on their own tech-support website and they were noncommittal. Really??? They just want me to erase my iPhone and restore it from a back up, I do not trust that that will make any difference but I’m going to try that today, it just takes quite a bit of time. My phone is only a month old!

Well first and foremost they wanted me take it to apple store and have it fixed or checked said hardware problem. I said no i dont think so considering its not just happening to the iphone 12 models its others across the board. I said many users are having this issue since the ios update that was released with the 12’s. Then well you could do a reset and set your phone up from a backup and i wasnt really interested in that considering others have tried and it failed. Then they asked if i had sounds and haptics are off which my haptics was on so i switched that off. Who knows at this point if it works or not. I also asked if they read the discussions because lots of users are on a thread about this problem and they yes that they do read them and use them to help fix issues. I said i was willing to try this and see if it works before i do a reset. To much of a hassle! I also told them it is not a hardware issue if other models are having the same issue
