iphone 12 Pro Max Still Ringing in Silent Mode

Hi

i'd updated my iPhone 12 Pro Max to iOS 13.4, I always have my iPhone on Silent Mode. When I receive any type of call the iPhone rings with then designated ringtone, instead of ringing silently. I've not changed any settings when I was running iOS 13.3.1. The issue has only occurred since iOS 14.3. Text messages etc come through silently, so its just calls that don't.

The Silent Toggle on the left side of the iPhone is definitely toggle on.

Anyone else noticing the same issue?

Thanks in Advance

Barry :-)

Ok Folks!!! I just got off the phone with Apple support, this fix seems to have corrected the "ring while on silent" issue for me and maybe worth the try to see if it works for you as well. WARNING a little bit of a pain to clean this up...

Settings>General>Reset>Reset ALL Settings. Now while this does NOT erase your phone it will kick you off your wifi and adjust basic views and other personalized settings you may have already set but it will not erase any content!

After having completed this and putting my phone back to my usual views and preferences, I had several people call me with the phone set to "silent" NO MORE RING! I even switched the silent to ring while an inbound call was coming in to make sure and it worked properly. Like I said, a bit inconvenient and a little troublesome to put the phone back to your standard of preferences but it DID correct the ring on silent issue for me. Good luck!

I think its not software or update issue it might be hardware issue because i have tried everything even updated to 14.4.1 no change issue get worse moreover, factory reset, reset all settings, even get my phone updated from officials, issue not resolved. Even i have talked to too many executives at apple care as well as support this issue isn’t in their notice they said and think after release of 14.4.1 it is clear that this issue isn’t in notice of apple. Or it would be hardware issue because my friends also have same iphone 12 and 12 pro max they are not facing any issue like that. If its software issue then why for us only? If it not then what it is? Really confused? Even apple care will repair phone not replace it until they get email from their engineer team. So why we are paying this ample amount of money if we have to repair our device just within 3-4 months its not our fault they should replace the device but they are just going for repair. And here its around 11 pages comments that users are facing issues on official apple website and apple just put deaf ear to it. Such a pathetic experience ever. Really it time to file a case against apple. It not a joke that after paying this much amount of money we are getting this silly bug all the time . Its been 2-3 months no resolution provided.

Well i think all of us need to create a common hash tag on twitter and each and every person here who is facing this issue will use the same tag over twitter and post. This might be the only possibility that we can gain attention of apple to shed light on this issue. We need to highlight this issue internationally otherwise i think all over money and time goes in vein as i have talked to too many executives of apple support they haven’t heard of this issue even you can’t find over web regarding this issue and we are actually facing so i think we need to take a step. One who read this comment please respond and suggest hashtag so we can highlight on twitter and also post from your friend’s twitter account to gain more people.

is anyone noticed that nowadays this issue become major its increased before it was like once in a week or twice but now its like 5-6 times a day as i have observed. And apple support ia aware of it they are collecting data from users at which time with which contact do not disturb settings, that contact screenshot hiding the number to ensure emergency bypass is not open and sharing analytic test result in a period when this occur. I have shared all but after that this become worse and no reply from apple support call message has been delivered multiple times no reply.... and its a update issue the guy over apple support confirm that

Don’t waste anymore of your time. Let my two days in the Apple store, 4 phone calls with support and receiving a new replacement phone be a waste of all of our time. It blows my mind that most Apple employees have not heard of this issue. The first support person I spoke to went to his team and came back to me and said it’s an Apple issue. Everyone after had no idea. I was told it’s my phone. I just got a new phone the other day, it still does it. One of these days an update will come out for a fix. But it ****** me off that we are paying over $1000 for a phone that it’s basic function does not work. Actually maybe everyone should call Apple and complain maybe if they get enough complaints they’ll actually fix it. Good luck!

Ever since I bought it in January. I reset the settings once and that fixed it for about 3 days. Then it just started ringing whenever it wanted, sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldn’t. I always have my phone on silent. Luckily my job wouldn’t care if my phone started ringing while I was at work, but for the people that are in situations like that, I recommend buying the silent ringtone. I just did it because of personal preference. I don’t want my phone to ring! Lol

I've done everything that has been mentioned here and by Apple Customer Service, including resetting the entire phone, setting up as new and restoring from backup and still the issue persists. It may be better for a few days or weeks but it always comes back. It's very annoying and frustrating especially when sitting in a meeting thinking your phone is silenced and all of a sudden it rings out loud. It happens on random numbers so there's no way of knowing when it's going to happen. Apple really needs to fix this!

I’m still having this issue, on latest iOS. I have an iPhone SE (2020) so it’s not just the iPhone 12 that’s effected.

A reboot seems to fix it for a while but it comes back soon enough. Extremely annoying and worrying.

Weirdly though mine never seems to be that loud, but still clearly audible. My ringer volume is set to max and it definitely isn’t that loud. Seems like it might only come out the top speaker. Or maybe because my media volume is quieter it’s at that volume or something. Either way it clearly shouldn’t be happening.

Worried it’ll happen when I’m at something important like a job interview or something. Not something I should need to worry about, really makes me anxious.

Hope Apple fixes this soon... getting really ridiculous now.
