iphone 12 Pro Max Still Ringing in Silent Mode

Right guys !!

I decide to go to apple store to fix this problem , the ringing in silent mode , so they told me

need to keep the iPhone with us for 2 hour to run some

test , I say ok , after 2 hour they call me

told me , they hardware is good , we found some issue with software , can we delete everything and restore the phone has new ? I told them ok ...

this MORNING !!! The iPhone!!!!! Ringing on silent AGAIN !!! What’s a disappointment !

I still experience this with some unknown numbers only. My friends can not ring through when I'm on Silent Mode, but these unknown numbers can. I have my phone on Silent Mode during meetings and it will start ringing, quite loudly. Turning the ringer down low when it is not on Silent Mode doesn't affect the volume of the ringer when it is on Silent Mode. It is loud, embarrassing and causes problems for the others. How can I stop this. I did update to 14.4 but it did not solve the issue.

I have owned my 12 Pro Max for 1 week, when in silent mode it keeps ringing. I asked my uncle has the same issue he turns the volume off & puts in silent mode. This is a Joke it would be nice to have an easy fix...

Barry, I also reset the settings and it worked for a week or two and now it’s back to ringing on silent again. It was definitely a pain to reset the settings and I won’t be doing that again either. I hope apple fixes this issue. Very aggravating. I have the iPhone 12 Pro by the way.

I’ve reset, updated, and triple checked settings. I was hopeful after the last update because it hadn’t happened in a while, but it rang again today on silent and DND. This seems to be an issue with the 12 and I REALLY wish Apple would address it.

I know it’s not optimal, but until there is a remedy from Apple, you might just need to turn your phone off when you go into a meeting or interview. I’m in law school and often have to turn my 12 Pro off when I’m in class to prevent a ton of embarrassment. I have an Apple Watch with cellular, so I still have an emergency connection with my kids and husband that way.

After resetting the settings, it only worked on my 12 Pro for about a week. Maybe less. Now, sometimes it rings on silent, sometimes it doesn’t. I updated to 14.5 yesterday and it rang while on silent today. It doesn’t matter if the contact is saved on my phone or not, it just decides when it wants to ring and when it doesn’t want to.

I’ve reset & have even wiped it completely and restored from iTunes (apple had me do it this way). An hour after my phone was reloaded, it rang on silent and dnd. I’m glad that worked for you, but it seems this is a software issue and apple has little to no interest in correcting. I have a new 12 pro coming tomorrow. Hoping that this one will work but not holding my breath.

Hard to know...what’s interesting is that it appears that this is only happening with iPhone 12 (pro, pro max) phones with the latest software. Frustrating.

Still not fixed on 14.5! It’s not even on the known issues.... nothing helps, not even factory reset. It started on my 12 pro max since ios 14.3

I rang them also and they said we have to wait for next update but can’t give a timescale.

I backed up all my data on to my laptop via itunes so I didn’t lose anything after the update iTunes put it all back on my iPhone again :) as it dose it after you click sync I think

I tried the reset settings. Pain in the *** but we’ll see how it goes.
