iphone 12 Pro Max Still Ringing in Silent Mode

I plan on having Apple repair or replace it,, my phone is 2 weeks old I'm tired of dealing with the BS . I had a call at 4 AM wakening me up again this AM :( The only option is to turn it off .

Contact support. I chatted online with them and they are sending me a new 11 pro and I’m sending this one back. I can’t afford to deal with this issue any longer.

Mine has been fixed ever since the resetting I did. It hasn’t happened again and that was months ago.

OK, here's what I did. I have a 12 Pro Max, brand new, iOS 14.5.1, Settings/Sounds & Haptics/Ringtone/Silent. Quiet as a mouse. Guess I can go to church this week.

I am having the same exact issue. Will it be fixes at the next update? When is the software update expected to be released? This is a very frustrating issue, waiting for your answer as soon as possible. Thank you!

I also have a 12 pro max and thought I was the only one having this issue. Now I’m going to need to have my phone off during work if this ringing while on silent issue isn’t resolved. It will ring for unknown callers which is even more of an annoyance.

Same issue here, plus others with my new 12 Pro. Not at all happy with this software, and I do not see the phone as an upgrade, wish I had kept my XR...as with all new releases of new Apple phones, the XR began mysteriously lagging around the time the 12 was released.

I have the same issue since update. With phone toggled to "silent" the phone rings with incoming calls. I took the advise provided above and checked on the "backtap" settings, first the setting is set to "off" and when you drill down it offers both a double tap setting and triple tap setting. Both of these are set to factory "none". What else you got to fix a ring er that should not ring when set to vibrate only???

my husband is having the same issue, I am not. But I have the issue, that often my text messages are not dinging when my phone is not silenced , and my column randomly goes down 🤦‍♀️ Hoping for a fix to all these issues

Embarrassed also ... kept ringing in an interview. The phone is new-purchased in November, was silenced as I always keep it. I apologized twice and finally turned it off. That was the first time it happened ... i thought it was me going crazy at first but when it kept happening knew it was the phone or IOS 14.3 (probably)

You just have to know what things you like as preferences such as I like the icons zoomed for larger icons. Also like a family beach pick for my lock and Home Screen. Text size and you will need to re enter your Wi-Fi password. It will kick it out. Like I said I don’t know of a given link to re establish certain preferences and that it will take a few moments to put your phone back to the way you like it. I wish I had an easy answer for you but so far the fix has worked. As for today I have had over 63 calls and with the phone set on silent it still hasn’t rung!!!!

My iPhone 12 Pro continues to ring when on silent. This is not acceptable. The phone is only a few months old. Since this has been happening to avoid embarrassment I now have to power the phone off. Again this is not acceptable. Should I turn this phone in and order a new one? I suppose so as the phone is awfully expensive. Please fix this issue as the new software update 14.4 did not fix it.

This is exactly what’s happening to me. I have reached out to apple support. And told them that my problems started only once I updated the phone. They don’t seem to accept that the 14.3 software has a issue.

they are making me restart the phone .. change ring tone and change umpteen other settings. I know that it’s of no use to sort out the issue

same problem occurs in my iPhone x version:-ios 14.3.

In salah time i switch my iphone on silent mode and in between someone calls me and its start ringing,it’s very annoying please fix this issue as soon as possible
