Hi there, so I’m trying to turn on the “allow apps permission to track” feature but the button is greyed out and off by default. Is there any way I can turn it on / find out why it’s greyed out?

What version of iOS do you have? That setting on my phone with iOS 14.3 is “Allow apps to request to track” and under Apple Advertising it’s "Personalized Ads"
Also, in Settings/Safari what is “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” set to? And do you have any content blockers under Safari settings?

Is it set on the master account, however?
May not be relevant, but if you are under 13 it can’t be enabled.
You are selling your soul too cheaply. But that’s up to you. Is your phone part of a family sharing plan, and has the plan owner set parental controls on your phone?
I don’t have a company or school email account, just a normal gmail account. I also just turned off the privacy restrictions that you mentioned but that didn’t seem to help; the option is still greyed out and I can’t toggle it on.
And honestly, I don’t care too much if companies can see what I’ve bought / searched for or not. I only want to turn it on for a specific game so I can do those “get free [insert game currency]” offers.
Those Safari Settings are OK, they aren’t the problem. Go to Settings/Safari - Content Blockers. Are any listed? If so, which one(s)?
My Settings/Safari doesn’t have Content Blockers. I just updated my phone to see if that did anything, but it didn’t add anything new.

It is a part of a family plan, but no parental controls are set on my phone.
They aren’t set on the master account.
And I’m 19, so hopefully that wouldn’t keep me from enabling them haha

There’s no Profiles and Device Management under VPN for me, just a space before Legal & Regulatory.
Yes, they should. I just checked under my apple ID and my date of birth was correct.

The other possibility is in Settings/Screen Time/Content & Privacy Restrictions, under Privacy, Advertising.
Although ask yourself why do you want FaceBook and almost every other company in the world know exactly what you have bought and what you have searched for?
Ah, my iOS is 14.2 and I have an update my phone never alerted me about. I’ll have to update and see if that changes anything.
In Settings/Safari, “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking is set to ‘on’, and Block Pop-Ups was also turned on if that counts as a content blocker.
“Allow apps permission to track” won’t let me toggle it on.
