iphone 12 pro screen cracking

Is anyone else experiencing their iPhone 12 Pro screen cracking for no apparent reason? I am on my 3rd iPhone 12 Pro because my first two developed screen cracks within 2 weeks of using. Apple swapped out both phone so it didn't cost me anything other than hassle but I can't imagine Apple will continue to swap out my iPhone into perpetuity. I've used iPhones for 13 years and never had a screen crack or chip. I've never had an extended warranty because I've never had a repair. I always use the Apple leather case and I work in an office. iPhone was not dropped. Cracks just showed up. Also, this has happened to my wife, son and daughter as well. One son's iPhone 12 Pro has not cracked.

I certainly do. And if you can somehow convince Apple (remember none of us work for Apple on this user to user only forum), your phone simply magically shattered, they'll replace the screen. But I will be very, extremely, surprised if Apple buys it.

Arguing what happened with your phone to only other users, none of whom can help you or do anything for you is actually pointless. Take this up with the only entity who can help you and that's Apple.

I never once called you a liar. Please point out where I said you're lying? You can't.

What I said is from the photo there's an impact point where the screen was damaged. That's probably exactly what Apple is going to say when they see the phone.

But I do wish you well and hope it has an outcome you are satisfied with. I would be prepared however for this to not go as well as you hope.

Ps: If you had invested in AppleCare+ at the time of purchase, this would only cost you $29. Something to consider with your next phone. It's too late to add it to this one. I personally NEVER buy an iPhone and not add the coverage. These are after all, glass encased devices. Glass can break as you've unfortunately experienced.

PPs: When you do visit your Apple Store, go in dripping of honey (not literally, but figuratively). Apple has been known to make an exception when someone is beyond nice and not accusatory when showing their phone to Apple.

Apple will evaluate your phone and IF they determine there is a manufacturing defect, they will take care of it. If they don't believe there is a manufacturing defect, they will let you purchase a new screen for your phone. If you have AppleCare+ the cost is greatly reduced. If you don't, the costs to replace the screen with or without AppleCare+ can be found in this link --> iPhone Screen Repair & Replacement - Official Apple Support

It’s design flow but they will never admit it, you know what when I went there i had many issues like the gap, camera keeps flickering and purple tint so the technician confirm all those problems but he said “those aren’t cracks it’s scratches but anyway we will give you new phone” I said “ok but do you really really believe that those are scratches not cracks?” He said “no but it’s scratches”.

so my point is that they won’t admit it because it will cost them more than only fixing the screen or replace it

I recently bought iPhone 12 Pro Max and noticed this issue. Within 2 weeks, I noticed an end-2-end hairline crack, and the very next day another crack showed up. I took it to Apple Shop and to my surprise they termed it as wear n tear.

I was lucky to talk to Apple support and have them agree to return.

It seems that iPhone 12 Pro MAx is defective and has the problem of screen cracking.

Hope Apple takes steps to fix the issues. This is an $1100/- phone.

“Take it to Apple” should be the first and only post if people are not encouraged to share their experiences.

Some angry mother or father may be wrongfully blaming their child for playing a game and oops the screen is cracked.

Your answer is accurate but not necessarily

useful to people that want to participate without fear of belittlement or wrong judgement.

My screen broke all by itself and was a hairline crack. Apple fixed it .

To all of the fathers out there, happy Father’s Day !

I just purchased an iPhone 12 Pro Max. After 10 days I started seeing what looked like scratches from the left edge of the screen. Two days later those scratches are actually cracks. I called Apple customer service and they told me to take it to the Apple Store to get the screen replaced. The Apple Store would not replace the screen they said the cracks are deep scratches. They can’t be deep scratches. There are no marks on the edge of the glass nor the metal frame around the glass.

My phone had the same thing happen last night. A chip formed in the bottom left side of the screen and a crack developed across the bottom of the phone. It is less than 2 weeks old, has a case and screen protector, and never left my pocket. Will be returning the phone and hopefully switching back to a Pixel. The 12 has been nothing but problems since I began using it.
