iphone 12 pro screen cracking

Ok, guessing that now your screen has cracked the internal stress in the glass has been released. The large radial nature of the cracks I have points to a materials problem.

I am experiencing this issue on the screen too. I just noticed another spot this morning. Nothing has happened to the phone to damage it. I have to think that the screen material is defective.

In the UK Apple are refusing to recognise there may be a problem and want £266 to replace the screen.

Same exact here on my iPhone 12 pro max on day 3. No chip, not dropped. Stems from the speaker opening. Apple genius says At&t will replace it, At&t says not unless Apple announces a recall.

That’s how mine has formed, laid on a desk with the screen facing up to the ceiling.

A case cannot protect an iPhone screen from scratches. If you want to protect the screen from scratches, put a screen protector on the phone.

You have 14 days to return or change it

I think you do have the option to return it or replace it within 14 days

But telling me you believe it's a stress crack, doesn't get you anything. As you know, no one here works for Apple. You need to get Apple to agree it's a stress crack. And only they can do that.

Same here... I've never dropped the phone, I notices several cracks on the screen. It happened to my husband and daughter as well. What is going on? We spent soooo much money for these phones and it shouldn't be this way. Even if we bought the apple care for all phones, it's very new and it shouldn't happen this way. Apple should do something about this and investigate on the material being used. This is ridiculous and robbery. Super cheap material for an expensive phone.

Nope, phone wasn't dropped. You can't just assume all chips are caused by a drop. We're talking about a very tiny chip on the edge of the screen. Something coming in contact with the screen obviously caused this. Car keys in pocket? Coins?  Who knows, but is wasn't any obvious trauma. It was something subtle, and that is concerning.

Not to worry. Bought it from Costco. They say we can return inside of 90 days.

We'll see. But this "coming out of nowhere chip" is very disconcerting. If Costco takes phone back, not sure we'll exchange it for another iPhone 12.

Yep, that's good advice but got away without one for 10 years though. Obviously the larger screen makes them more vulnerable. But that darn chip that led to the crack is so tiny, I just can't imagine what could have caused it.
