Apple logo flash at startup

iPhone 12 pro 256gb, Jan 2021 production, came with ios 14.3. Experiencing exact same issue. Still wondering if this really is software issue since other than the mid Dec 2020 ~ to date produced models are not experiencing this issue even when upgraded to ios 14.3 or 14.4.

In addition, I also notice that when recording video, the audio records at low loudness / volume then after about 8~10 seconds, it becomes normal audio loudness / volume level.

In 2019, I bought an iPhone 8 with ios12 installed on it.  It had exactly the same flashing problem, but I sold it before fixing the problem.  I think when higher versions of iOS are installed on a phone from the beginning, while the phone has not experienced previous versions of iOS, holes in the operating system remain empty that need to be fixed later.  So there is no problem in the pre-January 12 iPhones that have iOS 14 installed on them and have been updated to 14.3 and 14.4 over time.  But post-January iPhones with 14.3 installed from the beginning have empty holes in the operating system that 

Apple should identify them and fix the problem in ios14.5

About the audio: If you noticed this on the 1st playback, did you check if the issues persists during subsequent playbacks? If I remember correctly, I experienced this delayed audio start on my 1st playback of a video I has just taken with my new iPhone 12 Pro, but the issue disappeared on the 2nd and subsequent playbacks. Might it be that the phone is not finished doing some processing (HDR or other such) on the video and this is the reason the audio does not kick in from the start of playback when playback is done immediately after shooting the video? Might be worth checking this.

An update. 3rd iPhone 12 pro, 512GB. Called apple technical support. Put into recovery mode, install 14.4 with my iMac instead of update from the phone. Solved the issue. No more flash logo at startup. According to the technician, there is a difference between install from iMac vs on the phone. He recommend not to upgrade to beta version by ourselves. Good luck, everyone! Pretty sure it is software issue.

Same problem is observed on my iPhone 12 . The first time booting the device up, no such problem. After that , everything single time I restart or boot up the phone this problem occurs. Contacted Apple support and it seems that their Senior Adviser is aware of this situation. Hope there will be a fix for this

When I bought my iphone 12 pro initially all was well on the first boot, but later that day I turned it off and on again and I was horrified to see a blank screen with no logo, it wouldn't start. Then after pressing the side button again I saw the apple logo briefly flash and disappear and after about 10 seconds of darkness it loaded. The phone works perfectly fine afterwards and after hearing that it could be a software update problem on the 14.4, I decided to wait and see if the 14.5 fixes the issue. This happens every time I turn it off and on again. On the surface it seems like a small problem, but it is REALLY annoying to feel that you have paid for quality and the first thing you see is a glitch!!! Apple PLEASE fix this, I just hope that it is not the tip of the ice burg to something menacing. Sometimes I have to press the side button twice and hold it (praying nothing goes wrong), at first I thought it might be the leather case not letting the button work properly, but after using it without the case I realised the same problem exists. This is definitely affecting user experience and giving the user a sense of insecurity and it is really annoying. I'm trying to bear with it, I hope apple takes these things seriously, customers buy apple for flawless quality, there shouldn't be any 'glitches', not for apple!

My husband and I also bought two new iPhone 12 Pro Max (128). My husband’s phone was preistalled with 14.2.1 (he’s had no problems) and mine was 14.3 From the second day I had the phone it does the bright blink of the Apple logo, then black, then back to the logo to finish startup. I am on my third phone and all had this irritating problem. The Apple chat helper had never heard of this problem and suggested it must be something I’m doing wrong. He had me update to 14.4, but that did not solve the problem. I will exchange the phone again but each time I have to purchase a new screen cover and Apple will not pay for one because I didn’t buy the cover there.... even though it’s their fault I have to keep returning the phone. This has been such a hassle!

I have the exact problem I had iphone12 pro got the flashing logo before turning on! Spoke to apple support they where useless the adviser said don’t no what the problem is but please don’t turn ur phone off! Got rid of the phone. Now bought iPhone 12 and now the problem is there too I got software 14.4 god knows what’s going on but to be fair me phone and battery is fine! Tho when I had the 12pro my battery was down to 39%by 10.30 pm and I had only briefly used.

Can you check if the iPhone other storage space increase more than 10Gb?and let me know if it is? That’s my suspicion n I’m not sure is the two issues are related. My other storage space is at 90Gb and no amount of resetting and restarting are solving that. Yes it’s irritating when the Apple Chat help blame it on my numerous apps.

i migrate everything to ip12 pro Max from ip10 Max N the old phone didn’t have both issues.

I think for now , I either abandon my ip12 pro Max n use my old phone or going through the the process of resetting back to factory every few days. Haizz

Hi guys, I have the same problem on my iPhone 12 Pro Max bought for ten days, I decided not to return it, but while waiting for iOS 14.5 I am afraid of damaging the device, can you confirm that it is recommended not to turn off the device?

I have the same problem! I have experienced the issue every time I try to turn my phone back on. I try to turn on by pressing the right side button, I get a small flash to the LOGO then it vanishes, goes dark and have no idea if or when it might turn back on---UNACCEPTABLE!

my 12 pro max also same, the apple logo appear for a second and the screen goes dark until the Apple logo appear again to finish startup.. already update ios14.4 but the problem do not solve this problem. Can we claim on warranty about this issue?

New iPhone 12 Pro max. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12 pro max?

I got a new iPhone 12 Pro just recently & the flashing of apple logo occurred when switch on, power went off. Reported to apple store & got a technician report of such. Got a new replacement. All is well but 2 days later, the apple logo flashing occurs again when switch on, this time it went off for a couple of seconds, the apple logo reappears and the iPhone start up as normal. Not pleasant at all of this problem - what’s happening Apple ???
