Apple logo flash at startup

New iPhone 12 Pro. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

We don't have any other issues happening so not a big deal. Perhaps other issues are not due to this. I also found with both our phones we hold the button down, the flash happens about 6 or so secs in, then release the button, don't keep pressing it, then about another 8 to 10 secs later our phones boot up. I too called Apple, got a pleasant person that honestly said they did not have any information but her family also had phones that did the same thing and she put in the report so hopefully if it is not normal will be addressed with the next update. Cheers!

I have the same issue on my iPhone 12 Pro. The apple logo flashes at start up then followed by dark screen. I need to press the power ON button several times before the phone starts. The Software update is IOS 14.4. I hope Apple resove this issue. Thank you.

No, you DON’T need to press the power ON button several times. Release the button when the logo first flashes, and WAIT. The phone will start whether you press the power button several times or not. It will take 15-30 seconds to start.

The “issue” is not an issue. It is a minor cosmetic bug. To turn on the phone, press the Side button until the logo appears (or “flashes”) then let go. Wait 15-30 seconds for the phone to finish booting.

If you have a battery life problem that is totally unrelated. Start a new thread for advice on how to fix that issue. No one will see it who can help in this thread.

How did you like how you are assuming it is not an “issue” this cosmetic bug could be causing voltage spikes to the screen And or other parts from what it looks like. Just say cosmetic bug without testing internal voltages. It’s like seeing a car that won’t start because of a dead battery is because of a blown engine without any true diagnostics. luckily Me and my team are taking apart an iPhone with this issue. To see if there any voltage spikes across-the-board.
