New iPhone 12 Pro. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12?

After more than two weeks, I think that it is time to sum up the situation: the "flashing Apple logo" issue described by Blue-per does not occur when we unbox and boot the iPhone 12 (mini)/12 Pro (Max) for the first time, it occurs when the iPhone is already set up.
In most cases the phone performs normally after it boots up. Some users found hardware problems when using their new iPhone (phone needing to be connected to power in order to boot up, screen burn-in, battery charges very slowly, camera not taking HDR photos, etc.).
In my opinion those problems are not related with the flashing logo at startup, because they are very different from each other and they are isolated cases. They are just coincidences.
That does not mean that the flashing logo is not an issue: there are iPhone 12/12 Pro which boots with the (classic) steady Apple logo and some iPhone 12/12 Pro that do not, so it is obviously not a normal thing. It is not a "new feature" or "expected behavior".
After reading other answers on the forum, we can deduce that the issue does not occur on iPhone 12/12 Pro that were shipped with iOS 14.1 or with iOS 14.2 pre-installed, it (mainly) occurs on iPhone 12/12 Pro shipped in January with iOS 14.3 pre-installed. As a matter of fact a lot of people returned the device during the last weeks and got a new one with the same problem.
Now, we suppose (and hope) that the issue is part of iOS 14.3 and not in the hardware of the phone. In this case Apple should be able to fix it with an update, maybe already with a sub-dot-release (iOS 14.4.X) or later with iOS 14.5. There are some comments in favor of that supposition too, where people noticed that issue after updating from iOS 14.2 to iOS 14.3.
On the other hand, it is strange that (most) iPhones who updated the operating system from 14.2 to 14.3 did not experience the issue. And it is even stranger that I read a reply from a user who encountered the problem already on iOS 14.2. Those facts contradict our supposition above, and maybe the flashing logo has nothing to do with iOS 14.3.
I am sure a lot of people have this problem too; they do not notice it, because nowadays we do not shutdown and restart our phones very often. And even if they do that, they (probably) don't keep looking at the boot screen for issues.
It is very hard for us to guess if it is a software or a hardware problem. Only Apple can give us an official answer, and in order to solve the problem as soon as possible I ask you to continue upvoting this and other similar posts (clicking on "I have this question too"), commenting if you have some news from Apple and reporting the case to the Apple Support.
I got the exact same problem with the flashing Apple logo. I hope apple can fix it soon. I also noticed that my IPhone charges really slowly, too. Don’t know if there is a connection between these two problems
You know, I wish Apple would at least admit there is an issue. It is annoying. You pay a lot for a phone, in this case an ugly phone (its a brick), but one would expect it to at least turn on properly. Never had this issue with Samsung or HTC. Not very good Quality control.
I've been noticing this issue since I got the phone 3 weeks ago. Last week, I called Apple support about this over the phone since it's bugging me, but was told that this was normal... which is obviously isn't. You can see just from rebooting videos on YouTube that this isn't normal. I read from somewhere that this could be an indicator of a corrupted system file. I'm also not sure what's the next thing to do, though.

Although I read some comments of people saying that the issue appears only after the first full charge (100%), I did not speak about that in my post due to the fact that two users (MrMiyamoto and roT-) wrote that their iPhones were already experiencing the issue even before the first charge.
I get your point of view, after so many replacements it is logical that you get that impression. But if what they say is true and they are sure, then there is no direct relation between the flashing logo and the first full charge.
Me too! I got my iPhone 12 Pro Max yesterday with 14.3 installed. I did not have this problem when I first turned it on out of the box but then noticed it when I turned off my iPhone and put it to charge to 100% from around 19%.
No. He did check hardware again, as did the guy I spoke with on the phone before the appointment. He then restored OS, as I did earlier. Then he just blew it off like it was no big deal. I always believed if there is a glitch anywhere in a system, then there is a real problem somewhere.
As for the Android comment, my brother has been after me for years to switch. And after shelling out a thousand bucks for something that may not work tomorrow, it’s a thought for the next purchase.
Appointment set 2mw feb 2 sir but if it will take 3 or more weeks before it get replaced (as per other customers) might as well wait for the next sw update wala naman issue lahat ng features ok but hopefully software issue talaga and sana maglabas na ng offcl statement si apple
So not only does my iPhone 12 Pro Pacific Blue have the original issues I posted about. Mine also charges really slow, I was at 5% at 08:39 plugged it in by 9:00am when I needed to jump on a Zoom meeting it was only at 15%. I made sure to pay attention that the time when I had read other posters mentioning the charging issue.
We are all saying the same thing but Apple does not hear us. I have written a letter to Tim Cook. Maybe if each one of us does this, someone at Apple will listen. Right now all they are doing is ignoring us. Use this address.

I've asked Apple customer support and it seems that they weren't aware of this issue at least as of 5 days ago. I hope that Apple will fix this upon the next iOS update or replace the defected phone with BNIB phone

Does anybody know if this problem could affect somehow the phone? I`m not worried about the flashing logo itself (it does not bother me) but is there a possibility that this is triggered for something bigger behind/inside? As if there is a chance that this is affecting the phone it would make sense to think about a replacement... Is there any connection with that flashing logo with a bigger problem ?

I had the same exact issue and replaced my first phone with another new iPhone 12 Pro. Hoping this can be corrected with a firmware/software update. Not very happy with Apple right now. All their proprietary nonsense and now this.

I received my new iPhone 12 Pro in late January and noticed the logo issue on boot up immediately. And it’s consistent.
I was hoping that updating the OS with the latest version in early February would resolve it. Unfortunately it’s still an issue. I’m not aware of any other issues.

Got the exact same problem with my iPhone 12 Pro Max (iOS 14.4). Thought things getting better after my iPhone XR had a lot of display problems, which I only bought because my iPhone 8 Plus died while charging after 1 year.....
I experience the same flash issue after I restart my iphone12 pro Max after I realised my 256GB is full , with other system data occupied 75% of my storage space! Do anyone facing the issue also has mysterious other system data overload?
