New iPhone 12 Pro. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12?

After more than two weeks, I think that it is time to sum up the situation: the "flashing Apple logo" issue described by Blue-per does not occur when we unbox and boot the iPhone 12 (mini)/12 Pro (Max) for the first time, it occurs when the iPhone is already set up.
In most cases the phone performs normally after it boots up. Some users found hardware problems when using their new iPhone (phone needing to be connected to power in order to boot up, screen burn-in, battery charges very slowly, camera not taking HDR photos, etc.).
In my opinion those problems are not related with the flashing logo at startup, because they are very different from each other and they are isolated cases. They are just coincidences.
That does not mean that the flashing logo is not an issue: there are iPhone 12/12 Pro which boots with the (classic) steady Apple logo and some iPhone 12/12 Pro that do not, so it is obviously not a normal thing. It is not a "new feature" or "expected behavior".
After reading other answers on the forum, we can deduce that the issue does not occur on iPhone 12/12 Pro that were shipped with iOS 14.1 or with iOS 14.2 pre-installed, it (mainly) occurs on iPhone 12/12 Pro shipped in January with iOS 14.3 pre-installed. As a matter of fact a lot of people returned the device during the last weeks and got a new one with the same problem.
Now, we suppose (and hope) that the issue is part of iOS 14.3 and not in the hardware of the phone. In this case Apple should be able to fix it with an update, maybe already with a sub-dot-release (iOS 14.4.X) or later with iOS 14.5. There are some comments in favor of that supposition too, where people noticed that issue after updating from iOS 14.2 to iOS 14.3.
On the other hand, it is strange that (most) iPhones who updated the operating system from 14.2 to 14.3 did not experience the issue. And it is even stranger that I read a reply from a user who encountered the problem already on iOS 14.2. Those facts contradict our supposition above, and maybe the flashing logo has nothing to do with iOS 14.3.
I am sure a lot of people have this problem too; they do not notice it, because nowadays we do not shutdown and restart our phones very often. And even if they do that, they (probably) don't keep looking at the boot screen for issues.
It is very hard for us to guess if it is a software or a hardware problem. Only Apple can give us an official answer, and in order to solve the problem as soon as possible I ask you to continue upvoting this and other similar posts (clicking on "I have this question too"), commenting if you have some news from Apple and reporting the case to the Apple Support.
I have same issue. New iPhone12 Pro updated to iOS 14.4 during setup (unsure which version was on device initiailly). My phone flashes the Apple logo then is booted up and on home screen within 10 seconds. Phone seems to work fine except I have not been able to receive incoming calls with the new T-Mobile SIM card (works with older Sprint SIM). Can't see how these issues are related, though.
I simply repeated what I heard on this thread. They had already been posted. I had no problem with them taking it down. But it was odd because I seen the posts here. I don’t use those tests because I don’t feel confident enough if something went wrong. But others had run test conversions. That’s all I knew about. But my apologies if I violated TOS.

They're not.
You need to contact T-Mobile and either get a SIM that will work with your phone, or they need to enable that SIM, whichever is the issue.

Just updated the security update and 14.4.1. During installation, the phone was restarted twice. Each time there was a flash followed by the steady Apple logo after a few seconds. I understand that this is not the kind of version change that would address the problem. But I wanted to put it out there so that others watch it as well. I was keeping an eye on it to see how it would behave. It didn’t disappoint! The flash is still there.
New iphone12, I am also facing this apple logo flash issue when starting the phone, i even updated to the latest version ios14.4.1, but the issue persists. Many times face is also not recognised to unlock the phone, and also my ipad gets disconnected from iphone always on its own( is this the ecosystem which apple is proud of?)
I switched from android, and after spending such heavy amount, to face such problems is unexpected. Waiting for official reply and update..
Hi guys. I’m from Malaysia and I have just gotten my iPhone 12 Pro Max last week. I’m having the same issue as described. Whenever I turn on my phone or doing a soft reset, the logo flashes and after a moment it appears again. Aside from this, I realized my phone cannot so close up focus like normal iPhone 11 Pro Max. I have to take a few steps back in order for me to do close up focus. Anyone for Msia having the same issues as me ? I need help here as I do not know whether to send my phone to service center or just wait for new updates 😕
I have a same problem. I did not notice before but I did software update yesterday 14.4.1, then I found this problem and also I feel the phone runs little slow as normal...
Apple should fix this problem immediately, if not they have to refund the whole amount...

2 brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max . One week old Same issue . Came with 14.3 installed . Is anyone having issues with battery drain also ? Could this be linked to the aforementioned issue ? Force restart volume up/ down , hold power button = flashing Apple logo.
I just got my new iPhone 12 Pro today and Iam noticing the same Apple logo flash at startup. When I go the phone.. I did not notice IOS version.. but I upgraded it to 14.4.1 today morning.. Pls advise.. if there is a solution to this..
Yeah it flashes and it is not even the entire apple logo. It like flashes weirdly. Then I have to keep my finger on the startup button for a long time or plug it in. I kind of figured I'm not the only one with the issue. And I was right. It is annoying. I think I'll call apple to let them know about it.
I think this a awful thing besides everything seems to work perfectly. Apple is about perfection not about weirdly stuff happening. Since 2006 Apple changed a bit in quality. Not to mention my MacBook Pro 2018 battery and keyboard issues. Sad to be and Apple fan.
Run a “FALDbacklight test” on yourube and check because some devices have the background behaving funny.
theflashing logo might for niw not affect the operation of the phone but who’s to say it wont fil completely in six months or a year.

I think its weird for one phone to do it and the other not. My iphone 11 pro has none if this crap happening.
if its a motherboard issue and needs replacement, then the phone lyterally needs to be stripped into pieces to get to it. Its really sad to see all the people on here. I think theres millions more that have this issue but dont even know about it.
this is probably why apple delayed the launch for so long. Now they still conned us by selling a faulty product to millions of people.
