iPhone 12 Pro max (IOS14.4) won't unmute group message

I figured out how to fix it. Reset your settings. General—> reset —-> reset all settings. Just note- you will have to reconnect to your WiFi and fix any notification settings you may have changed

I think I figured it out! I don't know if this will work for you all but I hope so. I have an apple watch and went to messages and unmuted the group conversation from there. This worked and the group conversation is remaining unmuted.

I think that if you are logged into another device like a watch or iPad, you'll need to unmute your conversation from there as well as your phone (sometimes).

Yep! I this was my problem as well. Go to messages on your watch and in your list of messages, swipe the muted message to the left. Tap the crescent moon to unmute the message.

I, also, thought it had worked, but no. I ended up deltelubg the thread, which made me safe, but it seemed the only way. It is now unmuted. HOWEVER, that same thread is on my Apple Watch and it is muting over there now. Do you all have Apple watches? Could the be the root of the problem?

I am ALSO having this problem! I have a group of friends who text all night long, and I had to get up early one night so muted them. Now no matter what I do, it re-mutes itself the second I go back to the home screen. I love these people and want to be a part of conversations and not miss them. I also don't want to delete the conversation if I don't have to. It's been a source of calm in quarantine!

I'm having the same problem and tried what was suggested but it's still not working. I feel like this is a glitch.

I thought this solution worked for me but I was mistaken. I still cannot get one of my groups unmuted.

Apple watches aren’t the problem I don’t think. I don’t have an apple watch and I have the same problem.

How do you turn messages off? I did this twice and the convo is still muted. Just want to know if I’m doing this right??

My wife has this issue as well on 14.4.2 removing the thread, disabling messages, rebooting and re-enabling everything does not help.

I'm still having this issue on my iPhone 12 pro iOS 14.4.2. I don't have an apple watch so I know it's not that. I unmute the conversation but as soon as I receive a new text it mutes again.
