PowerBeats Pro shutting down with battery
When using my Powerbeats Pro, the left earpiece shuts down randomly, even if it shows more than 80% battery on my iPhone. This only happens with the left one, the right one works normally.

Hello oscarrdz1977,
Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having trouble with your PowerBeats Pro. It looks like the left earpiece shuts down randomly even though the Beats have more than 80% battery. We're happy to help. Have you tried resetting your Beats? A reset can help with power and other issues.

Update the firmware of your Beats product
Cheers!
Im having the exact same problem, I’ve got the latest IOS update (15) and my right one cuts out at 50% while the left keeps going.
I have tried resetting and cleaning everything but still persists.
From reading all the comments I’m leading to believe that it is a Apple problem as they work fine with my windows laptop.
Guys I’m also having the same issue as you guys in case you haven’t heard apple today released new firmware for AirPods and beats like Powerbeats pro as of right now they haven’t updated yet hope this new firmware fixes this issue that’s has been annoying.
Just FYI, there is no new firmware for Powerbeats Pro yet. Just for AirPods. And it definitely is NOT a hardware problem. It’s a firmware bug. There’s nothing wrong with your battery. Batteries don’t decline in longevity this way. They degrade very gradually over time and generally do so evenly.
I completely agree on not buying anymore Beats products though. Beats is the red headed stepchild of the Apple product lineup. They don’t give them priority in testing and development and frankly don’t seem to care about much at all. Apple has completely dropped the ball here.
Exact same thing happened to me. I've had them for a little over a year (warranty just expired...) and they now shut off when the battery hits 85%. Effectively reduces them to 15% of their expected utility, making these $250 headphones effectively useless less than two years after purchase.
I spent an afternoon on the phone with Apple service and they told me to either bring them to an Apple Store or to buy new ones. I then brought them to the Apple Store and they told me to pay $150 for new batteries (with no guarantee this would resolve the problem as it seems to be a firmware problem) or, of course, to buy new ones.
This happened to me one year ago and I didn't know it was a generic problem. In my case my left powerbeats pro shuts down at 25 minutes, then 5, then 10 seconds...
I don't experience the 55%, when I put it in the case it says it has 99% battery left.
We must show the case on social media by commenting any pic or tweet by apple so they feel pressured and do their work.
I contacted Apple due to frequent disconnections on my headphones using iOS 15.1, Firmware Version 4A394. Model # A4208 and they said that they were 'aware of intermittent connection issues'.
So, it looks as if someone at Apple is aware of this problem.
I have the same issue for a few months now. The issue started very shortly after the expiry of guarantee of the device (please prove I am wrong about this conspiracy). Left earpiece is shutting down whenever it wants to shut down. Sometimes it takes longer (max 30 min), sometimes- after few minutes. When it shuts, I check the iphone for battery, and it shows 50 %, after that I add it to the box and it instantly shows that earphones are good with 99 %. Therefore I see that the left one dies but WITH charged battery. Pretty sure it is firmware, not the battery.. And this happens no matter which device I use - OS, Windows, TV, laptop or iphone.
Please help APPLE!

update:
didn't work, left bud went off after 10 minutes of music and less than a minute phone call; too bad because these things are have the best sound of any true wireless headphones i own.
update: placed the left one in the case and it showed 100% battery immediately, gonna try again with no phone call
update: left bud went off after 7 mins. of music

BTW, It's great that my post is still active with people trying to figure the problem out, but sad that apple just doesn't seem to care.
Apple needs to do something about this, the same exact thing is happening to me. I contacted apple support and had to go into the store for an appointment, just to be told that they will need to charge $90 a piece to send it out for analysis, to a total cost of $270. From here they told me that the price for new beats is cheaper and it would be better to just buy a new pair. They won't provide any credit for the headphones, and will only take them back to recycle them.
Same happened, I recently updated my ipad pro 2021 to ios 15.1 after pairing PowerBeatsPro the right bud drains battery 🔋 in less than 20minutes,
before i was on ios 14.7 never face the problem even though i had it connected to iPhone 11 pro ios 14.4 still the beats works without a problem on iPhone, but it's only happening with iOs 15.1
Apple needs to fix the bug on IOS 15
I’ve had this problem with my left side of my Powerbeats pro not charging since I bought it. I had to send them to be repaired and they could not find the issue. Still having the same problem now I have no warranty it was only good for one year. Not happy about this thinking about getting a different pair one that is more reliable. I’m done with being in the middle of a project or exercise and one side goes out. I also noticed that I can put them in the charging box and it will be 80% to 90% charged and then go back and be all the way down to almost nothing.
Unfortunately I will be in search of new ear buds love the sound of these but it’s not worth the constant drop of charge.
I have the same problem with the right earphone. it discharges very quickly and turns off. I put it in the case and immediately shows 55%. I take it out and I can still use it. He sits down again. Again, the case shows 40%. I immediately take it out and can continue to use it.
I see that the problem is most present when I use the microphone. if you do not use a microphone, but only listen to audio, the problem does not arise.
April 2022, same issue. Took beats into genius bar. Was told they could be sent in for a repair fee of $79. One day later, service center says they received product and couldn't reproduce issue so are shipping back the original product. Awesome, I guess I've enjoyed what amounts to a $100/year headphone rental fee since they are now worthless.
Showed this thread to the genius and they said there's nothing they can do unless it's on an official "recognized issues" list that they have. Basically it was a "***** for you" attitude with no recourse.
I'll be returning to Bose, whose over-ear noise cancelling headphones I've been using for over a decade.
How is this marked as solved? This isn't solved. I don't see any response that tells me how to fix my Powerbeats other than buying a new set or earbud and they aren't old enough for that to be a reasonable suggestion. This is disappointing and it really makes me question why I went with the apple product/s in the first place.
Yes, latest version on both the iphone and Beats. It just happened, the left one went off and still shows almost half a battery.
