Kindle reader on MacBook Air/Big Sur- crashes after about 10 - 15 seconds.

I uninstalled Kindle, downloaded the app from the App store, reinstalled and... same problem. Don't know what to do. I have several books I need for work and I can't access them.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Only Amazon can solve the largely reported Kindle v1.3.0 crashing on Big Sur. With a 1.7 rating from 1800 users in the Mac App Store, it cannot be because Amazon Mobile is responsive to user feedback either.

As you have a critical path for work related needs, I suggest you resort to a physical device for reading your Kindle books, until such time that Amazon Mobile wakes up to user requirements on macOS Big Sur.

Kindle books are downloaded directly into the Kindle app, not to your Download folder. Here is how it works. If you have the Kindle app installed on your computer, open it. Then you purchase whatever book to download. It is then downloaded within the Kindle app. The app gives you the option to display all the books you have purchased or only certain ones. The ones not displayed are still available to you from Kindle (on their server) and they may be accessed at a future time if desired. I hope this answers your questions.
