Sign out iCloud in your device, restart, sign in again to iCloud. Then open Apple Music, sign in and you are done.
That worked for me.
iPhone 11, iOS 14.6: I can confirm that this bug persists even after the following corrective actions were taken:
The problem presents itself when music is played back from Apple Music using Bluetooth, the internal iPhone speaker, and an external USB DAC (this DAC has worked well with my iPhones in the past).
Is there a fix for this issue? The Apple recommended fix doesn't fix the problem.
Yeah I think it has to do with the special audio launch. At least most of the songs it has happened with are the spatial audio ones. Would rather not have special audio if this is the consequence. Always a glitch with Apple. It’s truly what I associate with them nowadays :( which sucks cuz have put so much time into my Apple library. Signing in and out of iCloud does nothing for me. Maybe worker for some, but I’m having same issue
Yeah.... :) Not laughing at you, but more at this situation. I got a Mac M1 and had more problems with my iPod Classic under it than my old version of iTunes on PC. If I don't upgrade iTunes on the PC, it never stops working. But Mac has it baked in the OS and they make changes... then things break.... and then they get fixed... then the new version comes out and they break again.
I gave up after a bit and only sync again with my PC.
They have a bug here and just need to fix it. And if they let me have hi-res iTunes Music Match, I could get them all DRM free... and then I'd be fine. Most of my issues are on files that are Matched in the store... that I own. It's only hi-res audio and not all of them either. Something's up on their end with producing the file and giving it to us on the devices.... until they straighten that out, I'm just downloading in 256kbps for a bit.

Yes, this works, but at the cost of Dolby Atmos. Hoping for a fix so that this feature can be used.
Exactly, an update is needed to fix it, I also have tried everything I’ve found online and nothing works. Spotify seems tempting now.
Download the apple support app. It might not be helpfull in a direct way, but if enough people contact apple directly, they'll know.
Why should that make a difference? I am. Problem happens only with downloaded lossless = a bug.
Advisor called me back last night; engineers working on a fix...guess we just have to be patient.
It’s not only that, it requires internet to play. Making “downloads” totally useless and absurd. Unbelievable we haven’t got a real fix to this. Does turning off losless works?
Didn't someone say on here a while back that it's fixed in the next iOS update due out soon, likely next week. So messing about trying these workarounds is a bit pointless?
Yes same problem in fact. The problem still appears for lossless streamed songs.
no issue for songs downloaded.
eeek- hopefully you have a backup you can return to your prior state...
I have the same problem. The bug is a little inconsistent. Have you only experienced the issue when connected via Bluetooth? Also, have you noticed the artwork thumbnails keep on refreshing when you select a track to play.
I am having the same issue and none of the solutions on this thread have worked for me so far.
For me, this issue is highly consistent and reproducible (note only for Dolby Atmos playback).
Perhaps an update is needed to fix?
