Downloaded lossless songs stop at 15 seconds every time

Today iOS 14.7 was released it seems that the issue it’s fixed. Let’s hope it’s stayed like this

The problem has been already fixed in iOS 14.7 since Monday. Update.

this happened to me ever since the update for it came out i was thinking about making a playlist with all of your lossless audio songs turning off lossless audio and deleting them from the library and redownloading them.

Exactly. This was driving me mad:

I had one playlist at Lossless quality for the ‘good headphones’ and another playlist at standard quality for running using Bluetooth headphones.

After downloading the Lossless audio, the Music setting was returned to standard AAC.

While running - listening to Bluetooth headphones and the standard quality music, music repeatedly stopped at 15sec. Unless I was on WiFi and the music would play fine.

Thanks to this thread, I’ve now deleted all the music - both qualities - and redownloaded everything at standard quality - music now plays fine with or without WiFi.

A real shame as I was loving the Lossless on my good cans.

I was having the same problem this morning. Apparently it is a problem with DRM and copyrights.

For me, the problem appeared only when I tried listening to downloaded music with data off for Apple Music. As soon as I turned it on, the music played without any issue. Turned it off again and the problem reappeared.

Has anyone found a permanent solution yet? This is getting annoying.

I still have the problem, I have noticed that if I re download any of my songs it only work around 24hrs.

What have I’ve done is create a playlist with the songs that I’m listening lately and delete the downloads and re download it. I hope that this helps you.

Apple must fix this issue soon, it’s pretty annoying.

I have that same issue on my iPhone XR, i thought that I was the only one hahaha I hope that apple patch this bug ASAP.

on a call with apple support they recommend me that i re download my lossless songs to the standard quality, the problem got solved for about one or two days but today give me that same problem.

and also on my downloaded Dolby Atmos songs occurred the bug.

so annoyed with the lossless thing ..took like 5 days before my stuff got back ..I find if you don’t use Bluetooth your downloads work fine with out wifi .but only the all Lossless or all none lossless can’t have a playlist mixed or gets all stupid with the 15 sec stops ..so annoying when riding the bike grr ..sound does sound better ..some songs add silliness though ..oh well always another option

I got a whole new phone and it is still happening to me. I downloaded the music with standard pre-set settings and immediately ran into the issue. I removed the music app (and all downloaded music). Re-downloaded the music app, turned off ATMOS Dolby and turned on Lossless. Re-downloaded music. Worked for about 6 hours and then it started doing it again.

It seems to do this for all my older music, when I actually had to purchase them. This is frustrating because I am on vacation driving in a lot of places that doesn’t have WiFi and can’t listen to any music.

I DISABLED Lossless audio just because of that and switched back to Tidal HI-FI. Sorry this is frustrating when you're in a vibe and then the songs cuts for no apparent reason. You can do better team. You got this. Let's go.

I have the same issue, which occurs only when I try to listen offline. I disabled lossless on a music and it somehow updated itself and became a normal music that plays as supposed online & offline.

Deleting the whole app and installing the music is definitely not an option, shouldn't be at least. This is quite inconvenient and should be solved in way. This pretty much makes the whole app unusable without internet connection unless repeatedly trying to disable the lossless setting.

Same issue. I've downgraded all my songs back to the standard quality. Not sure what to do anymore.

Settings > Music > Audio quality. I think it is off by default tho, at least it was when I set up my new phone.

Tried all the listed suggestions in this thread for a fix.

Only way to play lossless music offline from iOS seems to be a switch to tidal hifi, Qobuz or similar.

This has been fixed in the iOS update 14.7.1
