Downloaded lossless songs stop at 15 seconds every time

iPhone 11 latest iOS, all downloaded lossless songs (data for Music is off) stop playing right at the 15 second mark. When on wifi, no problems at all. Non-lossless songs also no problem. It's only with lossless songs that are downloaded to the phone. Anyone else? Didn't happen yesterday or even this morning, that's the odd thing. Also tends to freeze up the app to some degree as well.

Doesn't matter if it's directly on the phone's speakers, bluetooth, or usb connection to either car or home A/V receiver. Same problem.

Did this in airplane mode, too... same problem. Force quit the app.... same problem. Restarted the phone.... same problem and then hard restarted the phone.... same problem.

Only thing left is to wipe the phone and restore it from my back up.... last resort only.

Anyone else run into this?

I had this problem as well a few days ago! The ONLY thing that worked after trying everything was signing out of my Apple ID / iCloud (it takes a few mins to sign out, the option is at the very bottom) under my main profile in the settings app, then signing back in ! For some reason this completely solved my problem. Just thought I would share this in case it helps someone else! I was on call with multiple Apple support people and the last person I talked to suggested this and it worked :)

Yes, I have this issue, too. It is extremely frustrating that Apple software updates occur automatically and apparently because of poor beta testing protocols most have more bugs than an alley dumpster. We pay a premimum for Apple products and services. So, IMHO unless an update is in response to a severe and critical sofeware vulnerability it needs to be throughly tested by employing Apple's entire workforce and voluntary beta testers before releasing the next plague of bugs on the community. IMHO, Apple's reputation is getting a sever tarnishing because of poor beta testing.

That’s Apple’s solution to everything: only use your Apple device the way it shipped, with factory defaults, and absolutely do not change anything ever. If you do, everything will break, and you will need to reconfigure it from scratch. That’s how much confidence they have in their software quality and backup/restore solution.

The problem with every “solution” for the 15-second bug is that they’ll work for a while, so people claim the problem is “fixed”. But give it a few days, or even a few hours in some instances, and the problem comes back. There is no certified solution at this point.

Still the same problem. Somebody from Apple tried calling me about it, but I was on vacation. So if apple wants to try again, feel free. However, everything that has been mentioned as a possible fix in this thread I have tried. I am not going to waste my time downloading my library of music multiple times and have it fail on me again within a day if not immediately. It’s past time to fix this bug which is clearly a widespread problem.

Meanwhile, my iMac, which had played all Lossless songs flawlessly up until now, suddenly started skipping over them entirely. It was hard to believe Apple hasn’t fixed this problem that has plagued their flagship service for 2–3 weeks, they’re allowing it to get even worse. All that without a single word acknowledging the issue, let alone a resolution. They’ve changed music forever, that’s for sure—and not for the best.

I had deleted the app, re downloaded all my lossless songs to default high quality hoping they would play offline but in vain, they still ask internet connection for playing and this is very annoying. I even tried to turn off lossless audio but still the songs won’t play offline!, i don’t know why apple is taking too much time to solve this issue. What’s the point of giving us the lossless and high resolution lossless songs if we can’t even play them offline! Even the default high quality songs aren’t playing offline!!!!

While I too no longer seem to have e 15s cutoff issue, I still find that songs I have in my library do not download in lossless even where that track appears in the Apple Music catalogue as a lossless song (even if for example on one album which is marked as lossless on Apple Music songs from that album dont all download as lossless). It seems a bit hit and miss…

Deleting the ap and RE downloading is NOT an option. It’s taken me months to find and download the songs I want. YouTube music doesn’t have these nor other problems. I don’t understand why Apple of all companies, can’t fix this problem. The cost of the phones and of course the amps should allow Apple to utilize the finest people to design and construct these amps as well as fix a simple bug. Just don’t get it

This is getting ridiculous. I live in the Alaskan Bush where we only have Internet a few hours a day at the most when all the generators are on. I’ve been listening to Apple Music sense iTunes came out. I mean old school iPod. Now all the sudden I can’t listen to my music anymore. This is stupid as ****. Fix this Apple. I have downloaded and deleted and re-signed in and all I have to do is re-download hundreds and hundreds of songs every time which takes me stinking hours.
