Can't upload songs to library for iTunes matching

I can't upload any songs to my library for matching at Itunes match.

Uploading song has status - trying to match at Itunes Store.

And this status isn't changing at all.

Changing accounts, using other wifi networks - nothing helps.

The Problem began at Thursday. Before that day everything was OK.

Oh - and there is NO problem with downloading already matched songs.

Well, I wanted to waste two hours of my life and I sure did by trying to contact Apple support regarding the issue. They made me try the typical things of log out / log on, uncheck iCloud Music Library and recheck. I even did an uninstall and reinstall of iTunes since a service agent found a communities post saying this fixed the issue back in 2019. Nothing helped as we knew it wouldn't. Almost like they couldn't comprehend that Apple might have an issue with their service. (But the iTunes Service status is Green on the website? lol) I tested loading an album into iCloud (an album previously already matched that I had downloaded and was fixing meta data prior to re-importing into iTunes Match) and 6 out of 18 matched but looks like the process timed out and 12 are now in the "Waiting" iCloud Status. Only thing I can do is either delete them from the library or select File -> Library -> Update iCloud Music Library and hope more match or upload. So far not making much progress as the Library Update usually times out with no progress after 30 minutes. My recommendation would be to not mess around on your side and we just have to wait this one out. Maybe more tickets open will get supports attention.

Yes, 3 weeks and a day ago this issue started. I have a Hong Kong account and a UK account. Both have the same issue. Generally will not upload any songs of my own but will sometimes let a couple of tracks upload. Always the same tracks that do upload. Have spent around 20 hours on calls to apple support over the past 3 weeks. Now they have stopped responding at all. It should not be that difficult to fix the issue if they roll back the changes made to the systems ‘ servers to their state on Wednesday July 14th 2021. The issue started that night but on Thursday July 15th 2021 everything stopped working. Have provided screen shots, screen recordings, system logs, changed WiFi, tethered to a phone with no WiFi turned on, NOTHING solves the issues. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE - YOUR CUSTOMERS PAY FOR THE SERVICE - THEY NEED CUSTOMER CARE, NOW! Thank you…..

Just want to back up what others are saying here. My observation is that tracks added that are not on Itunes / Apple Music at all upload fine, but those that match have the issue. Tracks are very very slowly being added correctly. I've left my machine on overnight for a few days and this seems to have helped but only a few tracks complete at a time.

Has anyone in this thread solved the problem? I was in a chat with four different reps for hours; did everything they suggested but nothing worked. I am not even sure they understood my problem. But it's the same as everyone in this thread. Can't get cds I import to match and they get stuck in waiting. I can play some on my laptop (but they are not in the cloud) but not on my iPad where it says "song is not currently available in your country or region". As I have not moved, changed any settings and it always used to work, this makes no sense. Do you think it's because Apple wants us to stop using iTunes Match and switch to Apple Music for a monthly subscription?

....this is nothing new, for years now, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn´t. Sharing a music library doesn´t work. I am sorry, but Apple is a mess now, it used to be great, but not anymore. No quality and no software testing anymore, Turnover & Cash is more important now!?!?!?!?! System Big Sur is a collection of bugs if you run it on a Mac Pro late 2013........ Mail, Photo and others the same

I have two CDs I ripped from my own collection that have been hanging for over two weeks. Have deleted and tried again but to no avail. Have decided to not renew my subscription and go back to Windows Media Player to rip my own music. Will not have much music on my iPad, however as downloads take up too much space. Also, going to check out the YouTube music app

(used to be Google Play).

That would be amazing but I doubt we will get anything lossless from iTunes match anytime soon. I would definitely pay more for iTunes match if we could get lossless songs. That being said I just hope they get the problems fixed asap. It seems like they are having some sort of server problem on their end. They should be able to check the logs and figure out what the problem and fix it rather quickly but it seems like iTunes match is a low priority for them so who knows how long it will take. There was an issue a few times in the past couple years with iTunes match that prevented 90% of songs from matching and every time it happened it took them over 3 months to fix. This seems like a whole different issue I haven't seen before personally and I've been using iTunes match for years. They need to acknowledge there's a problem and let us know it's being worked on. We are all paying customers.

@rkeeley-mi: AFAIK, uploading tracks that are not available in iTunes Store still works. The current problem relates to the matching part of the service. In that case, when the Updating Cloud Library process is running, the Activity Monitor shows that it gets stuck at “Matching your music with songs in the iTunes Store”. My guess is that your George Harrison tracks are not available in the iTunes store, so probably have simply been uploaded to your cloud library.

@rkeeley-mi: Interesting about your 24 tracks. This gets me thinking that this problem could have started much earlier than just two or three weeks ago. I have been in the process of ripping an 85 CD Beethoven Complete Works boxed set since early May. Early on I noticed that some tracks showed as uploaded where I would have expected them to be matched (of the 1061 tracks so far, 276 show as uploaded). Granted, many of them could be relatively obscure works that aren't available via the iTunes Store, but some stand out as anomalies. A good example is the 1974 recording of Symphony No. 6, "Pastoral" by Kurt Mazur conducting the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra (5 tracks). I added this one to my library on May 21st but, while the first 4 tracks are matched, track 5 shows as uploaded.

August 6 and STILL not fixed. Have used Match since the beginning. NEVER had this type of issue. On top of paying monthly fee to Apple for music/tv/storage/arcade....and everything thing else, I pay an ADDITIONAL yearly fee for something that should be included in monthly subscription.....and now they apparently don't care at all that it is broken! VERY frustrating!! With this issue, can I even connect my phone to pc and itunes and directly download to phone?
