Can't upload songs to library for iTunes matching

I can't upload any songs to my library for matching at Itunes match.

Uploading song has status - trying to match at Itunes Store.

And this status isn't changing at all.

Changing accounts, using other wifi networks - nothing helps.

The Problem began at Thursday. Before that day everything was OK.

Oh - and there is NO problem with downloading already matched songs.

Well, I wanted to waste two hours of my life and I sure did by trying to contact Apple support regarding the issue. They made me try the typical things of log out / log on, uncheck iCloud Music Library and recheck. I even did an uninstall and reinstall of iTunes since a service agent found a communities post saying this fixed the issue back in 2019. Nothing helped as we knew it wouldn't. Almost like they couldn't comprehend that Apple might have an issue with their service. (But the iTunes Service status is Green on the website? lol) I tested loading an album into iCloud (an album previously already matched that I had downloaded and was fixing meta data prior to re-importing into iTunes Match) and 6 out of 18 matched but looks like the process timed out and 12 are now in the "Waiting" iCloud Status. Only thing I can do is either delete them from the library or select File -> Library -> Update iCloud Music Library and hope more match or upload. So far not making much progress as the Library Update usually times out with no progress after 30 minutes. My recommendation would be to not mess around on your side and we just have to wait this one out. Maybe more tickets open will get supports attention.

Just to confirm you're not alone. My early 2013 MBP is stuck at Catalina but using the Music app vs. iTunes. From what I see here, this problem occurs on both Windows and macOS regardless of whether the hardware/OS is current or otherwise. Clearly, Apple are currently experiencing a general problem with their iTunes Match service. I have an open case with support about this but so far it hasn't gone anywhere. I'll use the form at the link others have posted just to add my voice to chorus of frustrated users.

I've been having this problem since Saturday as well. My PC is up to date on Windows and I'm running the latest version of iTunes. I've tried al the common trouble shooting options and nothing has worked. I also have submitted my issue to the previously posted link. Hopefully this gets resolved soon.

Guys, have a quick check - having had no success overnight and earlier today, another File/Library/Update iCloud Music Library attempt is having some success. Ongoing, but of 511 songs marked ‘Waiting’ at least 40 have changed to ‘Matched’ and 1 to ‘Uploaded’ (indicating that not all mine in Waiting were waiting to Match). The process is ongoing for me, so this might be the end?!?

Looks like I get to join the club. Apple Support is supposed to call me back in a few hours but the issue persists. I told them it's something behind the curtain at Apple. I went so far as to delete my entire iCloud Music Library and start anew. Same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. Same problem. I tried ripping a CD to my MacBook. Same problem. I erased my PC, reinstalled the OS, and reinstalled iTunes. Same problem. I hope they get this resolved because it is beyond frustrating. Apple surely knows there is an issue.

Just to keep everyone informed.....second call today.....support went through everything via screen share.......and couldn't figure out the issue. I was told that it would probably 'fix itself' during the next day or so!

I have asked them to forward it to the Apple engineering team.......and I intend to re-open the case on Friday if it is not resolved.

**During the call, I even showed them this 'discussion' which is slowly growing to five pages long........stating that everyone on here is experiencing the 'same' issue..........

Here's hoping to it 'fixing itself'!

Glad to hear so many people have had issues with this as I thought it was just me!!

As with all of you, my iTunes match gets stuck in an infinite loop on 'Matching your songs...' - when I've turned the WiFi off and back on to force the sync, it uploads a few songs but doesn't upload an entire album just random tracks here and there and some don't upload at all which is most annoying!

I too went through a screen share with an engineer and they couldn't figure out but I was told it appeared I was the only one having the issue so I'm glad that I'm not!!

Happy to provide my case number to get this sorted and hopefully someone will have better luck than me!!

Hi Everyone -

I'm experiencing the SAME exact issue. I've logged a ticket with Apple Support and gone through two tiers of support at this point. On the second tier I had the employee reference this thread as she escalates it. They plan on calling me back tomorrow with an update.

Hopefully the sheer amount of issues displayed in this thread will get them to take a look at what is happening server-side, as this is clearly an issue with iTunes Match and not anyone's PC or Mac.

Hope this ends up helping!

Shawn
