Can't upload songs to library for iTunes matching

I can't upload any songs to my library for matching at Itunes match.

Uploading song has status - trying to match at Itunes Store.

And this status isn't changing at all.

Changing accounts, using other wifi networks - nothing helps.

The Problem began at Thursday. Before that day everything was OK.

Oh - and there is NO problem with downloading already matched songs.

Well, I wanted to waste two hours of my life and I sure did by trying to contact Apple support regarding the issue. They made me try the typical things of log out / log on, uncheck iCloud Music Library and recheck. I even did an uninstall and reinstall of iTunes since a service agent found a communities post saying this fixed the issue back in 2019. Nothing helped as we knew it wouldn't. Almost like they couldn't comprehend that Apple might have an issue with their service. (But the iTunes Service status is Green on the website? lol) I tested loading an album into iCloud (an album previously already matched that I had downloaded and was fixing meta data prior to re-importing into iTunes Match) and 6 out of 18 matched but looks like the process timed out and 12 are now in the "Waiting" iCloud Status. Only thing I can do is either delete them from the library or select File -> Library -> Update iCloud Music Library and hope more match or upload. So far not making much progress as the Library Update usually times out with no progress after 30 minutes. My recommendation would be to not mess around on your side and we just have to wait this one out. Maybe more tickets open will get supports attention.

Just chiming in to say I'm having the same problem! I thought I was crazy or had done something wrong. Trying to match a very popular album that is clearly in the Apple Match library - it synced half the album, and won't sync the other half. While I have a huge library, this is the only music in the whole thing that isn't already Matched/Purchased/Uploaded. So frustrating!

I recall getting it once before in the last week or two. During previous attempts at getting the "Update Cloud Library" command to work properly, the Activity window just shows the process as being almost complete but still working.

I've even tried signing out of iCloud, shutting down my MBP, restarting my Bell Canada Fibe modem, restarting my Apple AirPort Extreme (6th gen) before restarting my MBP and signing back into iCloud. I know, I know, I'm running some fairly old hardware but it never usually gives me any trouble. Also, signing out of iCloud is a real desperation move that I find is truly disruptive and sends my two ancient Time Machine spinning platter hard drives into a noisy tizzy. All this is a sign of how desperate I am to finish the job of ripping my classical CD collection into my local Library (only about 200 remaining!).

I spoke with a Senior Advisor at Apple last night and explained the situation and all the steps I took to resolve it (the Advisor said I did everything they would have had me do and beyond). The Advisor is sending it up to an engineer, so hopefully they will resolve this issue, eventually. It may not get fixed immediately, but hopefully Apple will see there is a problem and get it sorted out soon enough. The more people call in and report, the more data they can collect and hopefully spot a common denominator.

After about 4pm (EDT) yesterday, my slow progress ground to a halt; nothing has left ‘waiting’ status since then - left running overnight. Nothing since 4am (EDT) either. Yesterday I was really hoping things were starting to resolve themselves.

Each hour while it appeared to be slowly recovering I Matched/Uploaded: 177 (songs) then 25, 2, 66, 35, 32, 13, 17 (367 in total); each time I had to quit the ‘almost there but never complete’ activity and start again. As well as 23 songs in the dreaded Matched but still has the ‘cloud’ icon (meaning it has to be added to my library again if it’s to be available via the cloud), I still have 273 songs stuck in ‘waiting’.

Incidentally, all my library additions are ALAC. Given the activity around changing Apple Music streaming to ALAC, I wonder if this is relevant?

This is an Apple issue. I've tried my PC which has all my files stored offline and have used for at least a year, a new Mac fully updated, a Parallels instance of Windows 10 with iTunes x64 on it... all the same.

Out of 10 songs, 4 matched... that was over 2 days.

Doesn't seem like it's a coincidence since around the time of the 3.6 Apple Music update that this started failing.

Same here. Every CD I’ve uploaded since the afternoon of July 24, 2021 has only actually uploaded a handful of songs that are listenable to. The remaining show the album covers but are all grayed out. When you click the track to add to itunes match it just sits there with an almost finished matching your music with songs in the itunes library store status. I’ve tried disconnecting my itunes match library and turning it on. Shutting down itunes. Searching for an itunes update, restarting the computer to no luck. Please help.

Same problem and tried same tactits as others, log in/out, turn sync on/off, reauthorized computer, etc. Clearly this is an apple issue. I only have Match on a toshiba laptop, i dont have apple music, sounds like the issue happens regardless.

Previously uploaded music is all playable on my phone but any new CDs ive uploaded show the artwork and greyed out track titles. The track titles in itunes all have the little dotted line cloud next to them so clearly nothing is transferring over.

The activity window sits at "matching your music with songs in the itunes store' does nothing else.
