My phone will not download the Apple Watch update the apple

My iPhone 12plus will not download the Apple Watch 3 update. Is anyone else having this issue.

Apple Watch Series 3, watchOS 6

FWIW, a lot of people are having problems updating a series 3 due to lack of sufficient memory. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 times unpairing/pairing the series 3 watch for the update to finally work. For possible solutions, see the reply to:

Thanks for your help.

i paired it to an IPhone 8. Then used my phone another time and it finally allowed me to update the app on my phone and pair to the watch.. I have gone through this for about two weeks numerous times for days with help from Apple and T-Mobile and it would not work…. Not sure why my phone or watch did not want to communicate.. thankfully it’s working now because a Apple Watch 6 is not in my thoughts..
