Can I use an HDMI splitter with my M1 Mac Mini?

I would like to use two monitors but reserve the USB-C Thunderbolt port for something else. Can I connect two monitors via HDMI if I use an HDMI splitter?

iPad Pro m2 stage manager to external monitor I’m having difficulty connecting my new iPad Pro M2 to an external monitor to use stage manager. My external monitor is mirroring my iPad instead of being an additional work space to move windows into. I’m using an Anker 6-1 hub to connect the HDMI to HDMI cable from the monitor to the iPad Pro. Any idea why I’m only mirroring the content?

I will. In the meantime coild you explain why the hdmi signal cannot be duplicated using an hdmi splitter?

Some splitters does not play nicely with hdcp though
