tvOS 15 airplay issue

Today my Apple TV 4th gen got automatically updated to latest version of tvOS and suddenly when using airplay connected speaker (Yamaha sound bar) sound get out of sync in a very strange way. When watching any content first couple of seconds audio will be in sync then slowly audio will get more and more out of sync and some kind of video stuttering will show ( video stutter never get introduced if audio goes directly to a tv speaker only start showing when using airplay). When connecting airplay speaker to my iPhone everything works perfectly and in sync. I tried audio calibration option but always comes with error. Don’t know if someone else have the same issue, wish I could downgrade tvOS to old version.

Exact same issue at home with Apple TV HD with TvOS 15 and Harman Kardon Aura with AirPlay 1. It’s very disappointing…

Problem solved!

I opened the Home app on my iPhone 11 and tapped on the ATV4K. That seems to have re-associated the ATV4K and the iPhone. I then exited the Home app and both mirroring and Airplay have worked fine since.

Update:

I tested different things to try to isolate the exact issue:

Found the latest firmware from Yamana (this is my airplay speaker), updated and the problem still persists.
connected Yamaha speaker using airplay to iPhone 12 (ios15) and IpadAir (ios 12.5.4) and Apple TV (3rd generation, not sure exact os version it's very old) and everything worked perfectly, which means my airplay speaker was not the cause of the issue.
when the same speaker is connected through Bluetooth with my Apple TV (4th gen, tvos15) also no issues.

so the problem still continues if I connect my airplay speaker to my Apple TV (4th gen, tvos15) using Airplay, and only after the tvos15 update problem started when I had TVos14.7 everything was working perfectly.

observation:

out of sync situation, I can always reproduce when connecting my Yamaha speaker using airplay and connecting to Apple TV with tvos15 or using screen share from my iPhone connected to apple tv with tvos15. The problem is permanent it's not a temporary issue.
after TV was updated to tvos15 when using airplay speakers there is a very small stutter in the video, ONLY showing when using airplay in both situations when connecting the speaker or sharing screen from iPhone.
when both apple TVs are connected to the same wireless network and are placed near each other to have the same conditions there is a big difference in speed. tv gen 4 with ios15 cant keep stable speed it goes from 40MBps-0.2MBps while old apple tv gen 3 with old TV os have constant 130-140MBps. removing network info and adding it again didn't make any difference.
Apple TV 4th gen with Ios15 was completely reset and everything was deleted and installed and set from zero and there was no change all issues stayed (out of sync and video stutter when using airplay and also not stable wireless connection)

The same thing happens to me. I play videos converted via subler and played through FE explorer and VLC.

Using tvOS 14, videos used to lag and stutter now and again using Stereo paired HomePod mini’s, but works perfect using an Airport Express 2 connected via Optical to a Bose Solo 15 Series 2.

With tvOS15, stuttering is present with most videos (not all) when connect to either speaker output. If I play the videos in an iPad for example, there is no stuttering at all. So the issue is definitely tvOS.

Annoying, I got rid of an Echo Studio and 4K TV stick for they worked perfect.

My setup:

Apple TV 4K (1st gen)
Homepod Mini (stereo pair) set as default output
Airport Express 2 - Airplay 2 via optical to Bose Solo TV 15 Series II
Router: Latest Time Capsule (802.11ac, using 5ghz WIFI, Apple TV is about 1m away) Superb signal and speed

I meant, press and hold not tap (I.e. as though you were asking it to sleep)
