Mail is slow since updating to iOS 15

What is causing email to download so slowly that it has virtually stopped since updating to iOS 15?

The fix for me was disabling Protect Mail Activity. Settings/Mail/Privacy Protection/ and turn off Protect Mail Activity and Hide IP address. Now checking Mail in the app works as fast as it did in ios14.

When I updated to Ios15 one of the options I remember getting prompted for was more privacy around Mail so I said yes. It works so well apparently you can’t check or send gmail accounts in a reasonable time frame with the iOS mail app.

I tried most of the other things in this thread before hand and nothing worked. Try turning off that new feature for now and see if things start working better.

Same here, i am so frustrated that i miss a lot of things, appointments, invites, reports etc. just because i read mails late because my mails are not updating unless i go to mail and spam refresh. Sending mails are also freaking slow they get stuck in the outbox. I then turned off the privacy protection in Settings>Mail>Privacy Protection Protect Mail activity and Hide IP Address, and sending is now fast, but fetching mail is still slow, way better than before but still slow. And since i turned off the privacy protection i feel naked now. so this is not a good solution! The mail accounts doesn’t have Push option too! unlike icloud. All others only have fetch. but even if fetch is set as automatic and not a time interval, it doesnt seem like it is fetching data automatically. This is just so annoyingly frustrating and honestly causes more harm to those people whose time is very critical to their job!
