CAR Play Issues after IOS15 Update Cannot Load SiriusXM Or Amazon Music

Until Apple updates IOS 15 I’ve found a work around that’s giving me full CarPlay functionality with the SiriusXM app. I’m using my old 5S (IOS 12.5.5) phone connected to my car by USB with Wi-Fi on, Bluetooth and cellular data off. I’m using my new SE (IOS 15) phone as a personal hotspot to connect my 5S phone to the network. Works like a charm.

I had Amazon Music App, TuneIn pro App not loading the contents when connecting to Apple CarPlay. Also, volume used to play up and sometime used to lose control of the volume only when connecting to Apple CarPlay.

Apple Just release the latest iSO 15.0.2 which have fixed all the issues.

You might try deleting those two apps on your phone and downloading them again through the App Store.

15.0.2 fixed the Car Play issue with SXM in my 2018 Ourback OEM headunit . Haven’t checked the Excelon 905 in my Vette yet

What kind of car is it? or is it an after market head unit. 15.1 fix the issues all of us here had in connecting to Sirius XM and Amazon.

This issue is not only limited to SiriusXM or Amazon Music, but also iHeart Radio and Google Play. This is also not limited to Alpine. I tested this in other cars (including OEM CarPlay system in my Volvo), and it appears to be an iOS15 issue.

Apple is currently working with me on this issue and has been very responsive and aggressive in their handling of this issue, I have sent them diagnostic logs and loaded a profile created by them, which unfortunately did not fix the issue. For me since reporting the issue, not only is the "Unable to Connect" message appearing on SiriusXM but also on Amazon music. The "Recent" channels in SiriusXM will eventually appear and music can be played from those, but not from the "Favorites" channels, which do not appear at all. Apple music is hit and miss, sometimes it will play the music and sometimes not. I have tried the suggestions of resetting the phone (but not deleting the apps or performing a factory reset) and disabling the EQ and neither changed anything. Using an iPhone 6s Plus and 2020 Lincoln Nautilus with Sync3 having the latest software version. From all the responses on this post I have no doubt now that this is an iOS 15 issue and it'll only be a matter of time before this gets picked up by the media and reflects negatively on Apple. IMHO this was not thoroughly tested before release despite the betas.

I have a 2019 Nissan Rouge with Car Play(factory radio), the iHeart radio app has the same issue and has since the iOS 15 update. Waze and Pandora are not effected, but the iHeart app has to be started on the phone and restarted after a phone call. After the app is started the car will play the output of the app, but no remote control from the car to the app. I’ve reinstalled iHeart radio since the update since the apple store showed no updates for the app. This has to be an issue with the iOS update since the issues crosses auto manufactures and app platforms. Come on Apple, you are better then this!!!

Ok posting again as I apparently said a dirty word according to Apple. Can’t post about non released versions except in specific forums.

but to be clear the latest public non release version fixes everything about music streaming apps!! Hopefully you can read into that description enough.

I had the same problem. I was unable to stream music from Amazon through Apple Carplay following the update to OS15.1. The issue was resolved once my car (a 2019 Ford EcoSport) did an auto-update about a week or so after my update to my IPhone.

I hate to admit it, but it is most likely the vehicle's software.

Cerebro…. Ok, so that was happening to me before I updated. See some of my other comments on what I updated too. It was not and is not 15.0.2. Mine works pretty well in 15.1️⃣

Same on both my Excelon and the OEM system in my 2 car’s . Let’s face it, it’s not the audio systems, Apple will pretend it’s not a but in the iOS until they push an update that fixes it. It’s the iOS and I doubt there’s a work around.
