CAR Play Issues after IOS15 Update Cannot Load SiriusXM Or Amazon Music

I’m having a similar issue. I have an iPhone 13 Pro. Every time I plug my phone into my 2019 RAV4 and try to play music off of the Music app, the phone will disconnect from my car, like I unplugged my phone, my screen will go black for 5 seconds, then my phone will recognize that it’s still plugged in and restart CarPlay. All the other CarPlay features work properly, it just won’t play music without crashing.

That response is not helpful at all. The app doesnt work with the IOS15 update or with any new iPhones such as the 13. Had I known that I would have requested the built in satellite feature on my 2021 Mercedes C63

I have the exact same issue !! Sirius XM and Amazon HD music.

Across two different iPhones Xs wired to Nissan, and iPhone 12 wireless to Porsche . What is the fix here ?? iOS needs an fix ?? Or the vehicles CarPlay software needs update ?? The Apps are on the latest version .

Help please with direction ?

I think it’s decided to be a low priority so they push out the update anyway then let the community find the bugs. Very frustrating. My carrier is changing, I have to get a new phone, will Sirius work at all? Right now it stream, just doesn’t allow channel changes or show favorites on screen

Exactly, no favorites in SXM, recent list is not populated……navigation in CP is broke.

So this is not an APP update required from SXM and Amazon HD….rather iOS ?

I have a ticket open at SXM……I guess they will tell me it’s an iOS15/issue ?

How long will an iOS update take ?? Does Apple comment in these threads on the actual issue ?

Sorry. Good point. I neglected to mention that it fixed the same issue for Spotify and Pandora as well. I didn't try Sirius XM, but the other three music apps are now working. Just in case this additional info benefits someone.

I am having issues with listening to XM, or even FM radio with CarPlay as well after updating to ios15. I have an iPhone 11 and 2018 Civic. The problem I am encountering is when my phone is connected to my Civic it will not allow me to listen to anything except music on my phone or spotify. If I choose Xm (no the app) or even FM radio it automatically switches back to CarPlay audio to play music off my phone or only supported audio CarPlay apps.

No. Spent much time speaking with Apple agents who were useless. It appears that unless it's an "apple" product, they're not too interested. I have no music in my car due to this update accept for plebian radio which stinks. You are not alone.

Having exact same issue with my Kia Soul. After ios 15 update and on my Iphone 13 pro. Carplay is accessible but crashes only after trying to play music. Maps, calls, messages all come thru just can't play Music app.

Amazes me that people go to these discussions and do read any of it.

in case Apple is reading this:

my X5 was updated to the latest version today 072021.46 and no improvement on SXM or Amazon Music connecting in the app favorites or search.

I do however have duel screen capability for Apple Navigation and it works great.

Waze is buggy and causes audio problems in other apps and voice control no longer works.

i do not understand how these glaring issues were over looked in Beta. No big deal just another modern problem.

I have the same issue with my JVC with Apple Car Play that my Sirus XM and Amazon Music won't work it just keep saying "unable to load"it worked fine prior till the IOS 15 upgrade..Please Help .. JVC KW-V660BT

what fix is that please? I did attempt to follow the instructions to the apple website to sign up for 15.1 update but it only refers to updating to a Mac. what am I missing here? Please walk me through this.....thank you.

Why is there not any media attention with this issue? I cannot find any issues relevant to this upgrade except for this site only. I would think there would be a vociferous hue and cry from the mass public - I don't get it. Did this offensive upgrade only affect a slight few? Surely Apple will not hear our pleas from this site alone. I simply don't get it. I cannot listen to any of my music apps on my phone due to this upgrade and the only resolution is waiting for Apple's net upgrade???? Seriously?
