Apple Mail on iOS15 / Outlook.com MFA Application pwd

Hi,

Hi,

Since the update to iOS 15 on my iphone 12 pro, the mail app prompt me to indicate my password for my outlook.com account with mfa enabled and telling me it’s wrong. Everything was working well on ios14.

I have multiple outlook.com registered on my ios mail app but only the one with mfa causing the issue.

changing the app password on my security settings on microsoft website works but after few hours the issue is happening again.

any bug on ios15 mail that is explaining this?

After updating to iOS 15 my iPhone keeps making me enter the passwords for my outlook.com and hotmail.com email addresses as well. I enter it and it’s good for a few hours then it asks for it again. It’s super annoying every time I open mail or calendar or settings to have several pop up windows immediately pop up asking for the passwords to each of my Microsoft accounts.

I checked mine and the time zone was correct (Eastern). But I clicked on the link anyway and it showed me a map where my calendar was set to Pacific. I clicked on Washington DC on the map and was able to change my calendar's time zone to match my email time zone.

I just did this so I don't know if it works or not. But I wanted to follow-up to this post and tell people to click on the time zone even if it's correct since the calendar may not be. Let's hope this works!

Been having the same issue ever since updating to iOS 15. I have 3 mail accounts on my iPhone SE. 1 Office 365 Exchange with MFA enabled, 1 Zoho account with MFA enabled and 1 Zoho account with no MFA. The only account having the issue is the Zoho account with MFA enabled. I have the re-enter the app passcode about once every 2 days. Ironically, the Office 365 account is fine unlike most people here. Even though MFA is enabled on the Office 365 account I don't have to use an app passcode because the iPhone can integrate with the "modern authentication" Microsoft uses. With Zoho I have to use a generated app passcode and that's the one with the issue. Oh and I have all 3 of these accounts on Outlook on my Windows 10 desktop, no issue there.

Sorry, no answers here, just wanted to provide another data point.

Good eye! Mine actually said Pacific and when I clicked and it brought up the map it had me somewhere in western Canada. I’m in NC. It probably goes without saying, but it’s probably best to reboot all connected iOS devices after making the time zone correction. Fingers crossed that this is the fix as I’m over 24 hours now without the popup.

The fix is easier to do on a desktop, but can be done on Safari. Open a browser or Safari and go to iCloud.com and log into your account. Choose the Account Settings link in the top middle of the page. At the top right of the page your time zone should be displayed. Even if it looks correct you need to click the time zone. That will bring up a map where you can click on your correct time zone. If you are in Safari don’t click the map, just click in the box on the map with the city name. That will pop up a list where you can choose your correct city closest to you an in your time zone. I clicked on Washington DC since I’m in Eastern time. Click Done and look at the top right to verify the time zone is correct. Then reboot all iOS devices and cross your fingers.

We have the same problem with my wife’s work exchange email account on her iPad Pro. The lockout actually locks all her remote access too and her IT dept is getting frustrated after unlocking several times. They told her not to use the iPad anymore for work. Now I am in the dog house for updating this new expensive M1 iPad Pro because she cannot get work done.

Apple software team needs to fix this !
