Apple Mail on iOS15 / Outlook.com MFA Application pwd

Forget waiting for Apple to fix it.

download the Outlook for IOS app and set it up for your account. Don't forget to delete the native mail app or (at least the exchange account from it) so you do not get prompted for the password from THAT app.

The Outlook for IOS app is "different" but you get used to it and it works perfectly.

Agreed. I downloaded last night and I actually like it. Especially since it’s my work email, it gives me a little work/life separation. One email app for personal, a completely different one for work. Plus it integrates with our org’s settings and is pretty seamless.

I do believe you ate correct. In years past exchange didn’t always work well with my Google calendar but after connecting to a few accounts (work, gmail, etc.) and giving it a few minutes, it looks like this is a wonderful option so far.

This doesn't solve the problem. It works fine for a day or so and then the problem presents itself again. The same account and password continue to work fine on my iPad running iOS 14. This has to be a bug in 15!!!

The problem with using 3rd party mail apps (I've switched to Outlook to deal with this issue, too) is even if you move all your accounts over you still don't have integration with the native iOS calendaring and Contacts features. To me this is a huge step backward.

The calendar is an issue if you use more than one. Make sure you have outlook forward contacts to the cloud.

How do I save my Outlook contacts to my iOS contacts app?

Outlook for iOS

To save Outlook contacts to your native address book: 

First go to Device Settings > Contacts and confirm that the 'Default Account' is set to 'iCloud'. If you do not see this setting that is OK, the setting should only be available if you have more than one account added to your device. If there is no account connected to the device, then your Outlook contacts will be saved locally but will not be synced to other devices.

Second, open Outlook for iOS and in the left nav view open the Settings gear > Select your account > Toggle ON the 'Save Contacts' toggle. 

Saved contacts will be added under the contacts in your iCloud account. These contacts will sync to all devices which are signed in with the same iCloud account. 

Note: You can only export contacts from one device at a time. 

If a user has contact-export turned on both their iPad and iPhone one will need to be disabled so that we are able to manage conflicts. Duplicates can take up 24 hours to be reconciliated.

It may be caused by iCloud+ Private Relay. Go to Settings -> iCloud Account -> iCloud and turn "Private Relay (Beta)" to "Off".

You will need to login again once per device after disabling the iCloud+ Private Relay on each device.

I checked that, mine has been set to “off” the whole time this has been going on.

I just tried changing the number of days to sync mail and rebooted. We’ll see if that makes a difference.

We're experiencing the same issue as well. Multiple users and iPhone models. We are an on premise Exchange environment. This happened after devices with Exchange mail accounts updated to iOS 15.0-15.0.2. Security Authentication logs show accounts checking in with bad passwords coming from the mobile device IPs. The accounts are getting locked out and random times in the evening, prompting users for their passwords. We're having to unlock the accounts each morning and have suggested to all users not update the phones to iOS 15.

I have removed the accounts entirely from the phone and added them again.

when promoted to log in , I have used the Microsoft login that pops up.

after that the accounts worked perfectly. Its been more than a week without a single issue.

I will also note that we've removed and added the accounts back to the phones and still have the same issue. We're not prompted with the Microsoft login screen because we're using on premise Exchange not O365.

i finally asked my boss to reset his phone

after reset, the mail app didn't ask for password anymore. hopefully there's another way to fix this, because not everyone can (or want) to reset their phone

seems like the mail app still keeping something from previous account?

This is a huge problem. I cannot use Mail, Contacts, Notes, Calendars, or Reminders on the iphone. It keeps prompting for hotmail password every so often that it is annoying. When I used Outlook on the phone instead of native Apple apps, there is no problem. APPLE'S RESPONSE -- CONTACT MICROSOFT! This is arrogance at its worst!!! This is an Apple Bug and needs to be fixed!!!!

Do not know if this will work for everyone but try. Go to accounts tap on email account that keeps popping up, tap on email password. Backspace until you delete password,renter password and check marks will appear beside everything. Press vol-up and then vol-down and hold power button until phone resets. This fix my problem good luck.

I’m having the exact same issue. iPhone 12 running iOS 15. Multiple times a day no matter what I do - I have to enter my password over and over. This problem started the day I updated to iOS15. This was not an issue on iOS14. Apple you have to fix this please. Come on.
