iPhone 13 keeps disconnecting from car bluetooth

Hello,

I have issue with my iPhone 13 mini and iOS 15. Bluetooth works very well - basically Spotify through the bluetooth works without any issues.

However calling via bluetooth is really issue for me. I used my bluetooth in my car and also my handsfree device. Unfortunately the situation is the same - if I want to call via bluetooth then the phone call is cancelled after few minutes (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 6 minutes).

Could you please fix this?

Thanks

Martin

Try to apply this: Go to the settings --> find bluetooth --> headset --> accessibility --> touch --> call audio routing and change it from automatic to bluetooth headset. That helped to me.

I have just bought an iPhone 13 pro and have a similar issue with Bluetooth. I am a gamer and my Turtlebeach 700 headset will connect, but, since moving from my iPhone X people say they cannot hear me or I sound robotic to them. This only happened when i changed phones and have tried resetting and repairing connections and still no changes. I am running out of options and about to return my phone and move to Samsung if this cannot be corrected.

Same. My 12 Pro Max has worked perfectly with my 4Runner. Now after updating to iOS 15.1 randomly a dialogue box pops up saying accessory is not supported, yet nothing is plugged into my phone at the time. Only thing accessing my phone is my 4Runner’s bluetooth. In addition calls are no longer supported. Call may be carried over my car Bluetooth for a minute or two, then it’s term’d and transfers back to the handset. Not okay! And this is after repeatedly working through toggling BT on/off, forgetting devices, powering off my device as well as my rig as has been repeated online. None of it has solved the issue.

There are handsfree laws for a reason, this makes Apple an unreliable product for being lawful and safe. I’m tempted to leave Apple products altogether over this!

Yes me too, absolute nightmare! My phone disconnects mid call mid journey in the car. And when you cancel the call the car thinks the phone is still on the call. Then the Bluetooth drops and takes forever to connect to the system. Why doesn’t apple revert to the previous software which works perfectly?? Come on apple get this sorted!!

Following up on my post yesterday. I contacted Apple Support today and they helped me resolved the problem.

The root cause is my JBL headphone just needed to be reset to clear out the old Bluetooth connection. Once the headphone is reset, my iPhone 13 Pro immediately recognized the JBL headphone and I’m able to pair it up as usual. Hope this helps your case as well.

This issue started last year with the release of iPhone 12 models. So it's not new for iPhone 13 only. Both the iPhone 12 and 13 have this issue with bluetooth.

How I know? Because last year I returned my iPhone 12 and waited one more year. Now I got the 13 Pro Max and the issue is still there! Apple just doesn't give a **** about this issue.

Also older models of iPhone's works just fine. I am testing it on iPhone XS Max on latest iOS and it's working fine.

Maybe it is related to 5G or something? Who knows, but it's really frustrating that I can't accept or dial calls from my car. Even went to the dealership and updated my car, still didn't help. Issue still persists even on iOS 15.1.1

APPLE FIX IT ASAP or I'm also leaving...

Amen, SteveTCI. Amen. I plan to head into my carrier later today to consider my phone options. Cannot live with BT popping off like this while driving. Safety first, Apple. Get with it or GTHO.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and attempt the iOS 15.1.1 update that says it’s specifically meant to correct call dropping (yet says nothing about BT functionality in the description), since my issues began after the 15.1 update. But I’m more than miffed even now, considering not a single Apple rep has hopped in here and mentioned yet another available update to try — I’m really not feeling their love or concern here. Terrible communication on their part. If no resolution with 15.1.1 then I’m definitely walking away from Apple altogether.

i have the same exact problem with volvo xc90.

one regular network provider call works fine in the bluetooth speaker, immediately after I receive another call in WhatsApp or viber etc., it stops working and hearing in the car’s audio. I have to disable bluetooth and answer.

sometimes I have tried to change the speaker and route it again at the bluetooth but it was unsuccessful. (Insisting for sure it comes to car’s speaker but you have to think I can’t open the call and let them waiting unting I can hear them).

We just switched from Android back to Apple a few months ago, and gotta say I'm nearly over this issue. I use the bluetooth in my Highlander for a call and about 3 minutes in the bluetooth drops, making me find my phone and quickly putting it on speaker (while driving) to finish the call or hang it up. This is soooo unsafe and makes me not want to use the phone in the car. If we don't see a fix shortly I'm heading back to Android regardless of the cost to revert back....
