iPhone 13 keeps disconnecting from car bluetooth

Hello,

I have issue with my iPhone 13 mini and iOS 15. Bluetooth works very well - basically Spotify through the bluetooth works without any issues.

However calling via bluetooth is really issue for me. I used my bluetooth in my car and also my handsfree device. Unfortunately the situation is the same - if I want to call via bluetooth then the phone call is cancelled after few minutes (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 6 minutes).

Could you please fix this?

Thanks

Martin

Try to apply this: Go to the settings --> find bluetooth --> headset --> accessibility --> touch --> call audio routing and change it from automatic to bluetooth headset. That helped to me.

Hey mhalaM,

We see you're experiencing with Bluetooth during phone calls. Do you experience the issue in different locations such as home, work, friend's home, and/or grocery store? This information helps determine if it is location specific or not.

If you haven't already, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone If that doesn't help, toggle Bluetooth off in Settings > Bluetooth. After about 20 seconds, turn Bluetooth back on. Also, if there is a case on the device, removed it and see if that resolves it.

Take care.

Spot on, briansmech. It’s definitely an Apple issue, and appears to be an issue in the Bluetooth implementation in iOS 15 and/or the hardware in their new phones. The anecdotal evidence is overwhelming.

In my case, I had a third-party BT audio module feeding into the aux input of my vehicle (2010 Mercedes M-class). I had performed rather extensive testing to find a BT module that didn’t interfere with the iPhone XR’s connection to the onboard handsfree telephony. When I “upgraded” to an iPhone 13 and iOS 15, the original issue came back in spades.

Apple needs to figure out what they broke, and fix it.

Several weeks ago I paid $75 to update the software on my 2017 Toyota Tundra....Bluetooth still dropped calls. Saw last night that the IOS 15.2 came out and so I updated that. I didn't have a lot of confidence based on the number of people in these forums saying they still lost calls with IOS 15.2. Well, I made 1 phone call, lasted 14 min and had no issues. I'm not convinced it's fixed, but am cautiously optimistic. I'm also thinking the fix or no fix is dependent on the type of vehicle you have? We'll see, time will tell.

Went today to Toyota Dealership and had radio updated by a Certified Toyota Person. The iphone 13 worked for about 2 minutes on a call and then cut off the microphone. I switched to the speaker on the phone and continued the call, Meanwhile the radio screen looked like the phone was connected but the microphone connection was not working. Then the radio cut off completely - soft booted by itself and then the phone connected and the microphone came on - only to cut off again after about another 2 minutes. Looks like t fix this problem I will have to got to another cell phone brand. If Apple CAN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN AND FIX THIS ISSUE THEY CAN NOT EXPECT ME TO REMAIN A CUSTOMER. I talked to several radio upgrade companies and everyone know about this issue and advised their upgrade would not work until Apple fixed the problem. I truly believe I have proven it is an Apple iPhone 13 or an IOS 15+ Problem. Been dealing with it 4 months and Apple is nowhere to be found.

My wife and I both have iPhone13 minis. Both were OK until the last software update. Now we both have the same issues on both our cars (BMW and Audi).

The phone connects to the car, but after one call drops the connection as far as the car is concened, Often this happens with the call is still showing as connected (even though it thinks the device isn't), whilst on the phone it says it has dropped the call but thinks the phone it is still conencted to the car. I have tried the "forget and repair" on both phones and both cars. As it is now illegal in the UK to handle the phone whilst driving, the phones are pretty much uselesss to us in the car.

We have paid a lot of money for two phones that are only "mobile" whilst walking.
