iphone 13 pro noise cancellation

I phone 13 pro has no noise cancellation option anymore in settings for phone calls. If you go to (settings, Accessibility then Audio/Visual.) there is no option anymore for phone noise cancellation. Only in facetime calls.

According to the information found in Adjust the audio settings on iPhone - Apple Support, the option should be where you looked, under Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual. Since you do not see it there, we suggest the following steps:


  1. Close all open apps: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support and restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
  2. Make sure there are no restrictions set on your device: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
  3. Make sure your iPhone is running iOS 15.0.2: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

I contacted them via chat today about this, and they told me that no one had called about this issue before. I gave them the URL of this chat. They asked me to upgrade from 15.1 to 15.2, check if my case covered any of the small holes, asked if it happens in multiple apps, etc. My family uses Whatsapp, and it worked fine on my old iPhone 8, on my husband's iPhone SE, and one an old LG Android Phone. However, any of us that have an iPhone 13, when we talk, the person on the other end hears us on and off unless it's TOTALLY quiet on their end (which it never is.) On prior devices, the solution would be to turn on noise cancellation, but now that appears to be gone. So, as many of us as have 30+ minutes to spend with tech support should call this in. Insist that they escalate it to engineering.

I tried all that not working on the new iPhone 13pro hissing noise rendering the phone unserviceable in my opinion.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED AND ITS AN EASY FIX APPLE, just swallow the bone and do the easy fix, we still love you!


I wrote about this issue a couple of weeks ago reference the hissing noise on my iPhone 13pro brand phone out of the box that has this terrible hissing sound during conversations. It such an awful hissing sound and it seems to get louder the longer you talk. I had search and found a solution online of older iPhones having this issue as well. Apples solution was to provide a cancellation button for the older iPhones at the time. But I tried it and it worked on the newer iPhone 13pro the cancel button killed the hissing, gosh what a relieve I felt, it was so painful but I found relieve of this terrible hissing. Then apple came out with release 15.01 which removed the good button, great job guys you just killed us again!

Simple fix give us back the cancellation button ASAP, while your engineers figure out what is truly causing this hissing noise and be quick about it, I’m not sure how long anyone can stand this hissing during conversations it’s that bad. If not this will be a deal breaker for me and I’m sure many others it’s that bad!

This does not work. The sound cuts in an and out on speaker if there is any background noise on iPhone 13 Pro. There needs to be a fix so we can turn off noise cancellation. Too many people are having this problem. After no luck at the Genius Bar I got Apple to replace my phone and I am still having the same problem. We need an update the addresses this.

I have the exact same issue and it bothered me so much that i was close to returning my phone today!! (Using iPhones 15 years, this is my 7s one and it never happened before) then I realized its the issue with all the 13 series and not just mine. Its just annoying that apple support and apple stores make you reset your phone so many time or just return and get a new one when the issue is in all the line up instead of acknowledging the issue and trying to solve it, anyway for now try to put your phone upside down on the stand and as long as the background noise is not so loud on the other side of the call the issue wont happen! Hopefully it can be fixed with a software update!

I have the same problem bought two iPhones 13 pros and every time we use the speakerphone the conversation breaks on the other end, very annoying that the other person can’t hear you the whole conversation they can hear every other word, not satisfied with our purchase, Apple has to do something to repair this issue, I already took them to the Apple store they say the phone it’s perfect 😡

The problem (where my voice breaks up for the other person) happens for me frequently when on the telephone with speaker phone, holding my iPhone 13 Pro in front of my face. Recently I tried restarting and re-calling, setting the phone down or holding it in different positions, switching speaker phone off and holding the phone up to the side of my head, and connecting to my AirPod Pro bluetooth headphones. The person on the other end said I kept cutting out no matter what I tried. I tested all three microphones (by recording front video, back video, and voice memo), and they work fine, so that isn't the problem. I suspect it is a dysfunctional noise cancellation system overreacting to normal background noises like heater vents or the fridge. If only I was able to turn off that noise cancellation, I could find out!

I have the same problem🙈. Was talking to a friend today who was talking on his 13 mini over speaker. He kept dropping in and out so i mentioned it to him. We both checked our mobile connection but there was nothing wrong on both sides. (I also use 13 mini btw).


started reading after that call and came to this discussion. And it seems exactly what was going on with our call.


hope this will be addressed very very soon. It’s a phone, if anything, calling is what it needs to do at it’s best. Apple respond please?
