macOS Monterey 12.0.1 & Magic Mouse / Calendar Issues

Has anyone experienced the following since upgrading to macOS Monterey 12.0.1?

I have a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro and since upgrading when I return to my Mac after taking a break, when I wake the laptop using the mouse, I notice that I cannot scroll with the mouse (Apple Magic Mouse) unless I turn the mouse off and on again. Track pad works fine all the time, just the Magic Mouse is an issue.

Secondly, since upgrading my Calendar app now takes up to 30 seconds to open. Whether it's related I have also seen problems with the calendar apps on iPad and iPhone (and widgets too) - so maybe it's just a bug in the calendar app. I have tried unticking each calendar and restarting the app to no avail.

Anyone?

Cheers, Mark.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

I just upgraded to 12.0.1 in the hopes that, as suggested by the Apple folks, this might help the constant crashing of Adobe PSE. Immediately after completing the upgrade, scrolling issues started with my Apple mouse. A call to tech support for Apple seemed to surprise them as the claimed noone else had mentioned this issue. I am honestly losing faith in Mac products these days.

I recently upgraded to Monterey and today I worked with my M1 MacBook docked on Bridge, Discovered that Yes I have same problems with Magic Mouse 3 and Magic Keyboard.

Unable To scroll

Connection on and off and mouse gets disconnected and connected again.

Magic Keyboard keeps disconnecting.

All Accessories have 90% battery.

Apple please fix it. Anybody knows how can I roll back to big sur?

Thank you

Today the problem seems gone, I tried several times to put the MacBook on sleep and wake it up and no more problems when scrolling down... no updates installed, definitely no safe mode, I didn't turn off the device, nothing has been done.

The only difference from yesterday is that I switched off the mouse and on again.

Glad everything is fine again.

Regards

Luca

I have the exact same issue and it is driving me crazy...

I have a Magic Trackpad as well so I can turn off Bluetooth and turn it on to reconnect my Magic Mouse.

But even when I turn Bluetooth back on my MacBook just won't reconnect with the Magic Mouse and it takes a couple of tries to get the mouse working again. never experienced something like this with an apple device before.

I have the same problem. I dowloaded the Monterey upgrade this past Saturday and my wireless Apple Mous has not been working since. In order to get it work, I have to uninstall it, restart my 2020 Macbook pro and reinstall the mouse. Once this is done, if I don't use my laptop for a about 30 minutes, I have to start all over again. I agree that upgrades are needed but they should ensure that fixing a few issues doesn't mean other features will stop working. I am not happy at all. I work for a Title Agency all day long at the office and must login remotely in the evening on my laptop.....without the mouse, it's impossible for me to work since using the track pad is not fast enough.

Another development in the Great Magic Mouse Debacle with iOS 15: This morning when I woke my Mac, the mouse was again non responsive. I set it aside and used my old corded mouse but did not turn the wireless one off. About 30 minutes later I decided to check the battery level on the wireless mouse. I used the corded one and found the wireless battery was almost fully charged AND CONNECTED! I wiggled the Magic Mouse and had cursor movement back. Could it be that it just takes a long time to reestablish a Bluetooth connection and usability under iOS 15?
