itunes crash windows 10

iTunes crashes moments after selecting my device (iPhone X) in iTunes. I can't do a back-up to my computer, let alone add content from iTunes to my phone.

Have had this problem for a few years, and despite changing phone and computer, the problem persists. Have also tried installing older versions of iTunes, without success.

I'm wondering if there's some anomaly with my library, but haven't ever read that this could be an issue.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Michael

Hello jofrompreston! Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities.

We understand that iTunes becomes unresponsive or closes unexpectedly when you select your iPhone X. We'd like to look into this with you to see how we can help.

If you uninstall iTunes with the steps outlined in the following article, and reinstall, does that have any effect on the issue?

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

If the issue persists, let’s check if your iTunes library may be causing this issue, you can find the iTunes Media folder using the steps outlined in the following resource, under "Find the iTunes Media folder": Back up and restore your iTunes library on your PC

Once located, move that folder to a temporary location and create a new folder for your iTunes library. Does the issue persist?

Make it a great day!
