Over the last day or so snapshots (previews) of my cameras in HomeKit stopped updating on my iPhone 12 Pro. The text always says the snapshot is from “now” but the picture is more than a day old. The cameras still stream fine and snapshots appear normally on my iPad, Mac and iPhone 12 mini. Nothing changed in my HomeKit setup and rebooting hubs/cameras/my iPhone don’t solve this issue.

My situation exactly same, with iPhone XR & iPad 8gen. No snapshots on iPhone with current snapshots on iPad. Signed out of iCloud on iPhone & signed back in, snapshots current on both devices now! Thanks for advice & guidance!

The fact that other apps show preview ok suggests issue seems to be focused on Home app alone.
So I rebooted my iPhone this morning and snapshots were back to normal… seems like something may have gotten fixed on Apple’s side. Can anyone else confirm a device reboot fixes camera snapshots for them?
this problem came out since 15.2 in iphone. Force reboot just fixed it for a while.
signing out icloud is not practical since it will erase my wallet.
i temporary solve this by using paid app Home+ as replacement.
jusy can wait for apple’s updates.
iCloud Log out and log back in fixes the issue but after couple of hours or device reboot it is stuck again.
15.2 and 15.3, iPhone 13 Pro. Other devices update snapshots correctly.
Have you updated your iPhone to 15.3?
Ok lets see if we can figure this out. I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, I have an older iPad and a MacBook Pro M1 all fully updated. This is only happing on the iPhone 11 all my other devices are working as they should. I read on a other forum that if you sign out of iCloud and sign back in again it will fix the problem. I have not done this as it is more of a hassle in my opinion, at least for me. Is anyone willing to try this or have already? This does not seem to be a Homekit issue as it is only affecting one device.
Update,
The problem continues to exist in my home. I did try the logout and back into iCloud, this returned service for approximately one day.
The best action for everyone concerned is to call Apple support. The more number of support incidents will raise awareness of the issue to management. This is will focus resources to resolve the issue.
Does home+ show refreshing snapshots or live views?
Sounds like remove + cameras would be quicker. (If you don’t have a ton of automations tied in)
Installed the latest version and all problems are solved.
Problem is happening on my MacBook Pro M1 too and yes by exiting and re-entering from iCloud account seems to fix the issue but the question is that I can't do that on my iPhone since I'd loose wallet cards...and really I don't want to re-add them again.
Problem is not solved. iPhone reboot didn't fix it. Reinstalled Home app, didn't fix it.
Refresh of snapshots works fine on MacBook Pro, Apple TV and iPad, only iPhone 11 Pro is affected by this bug.
Can anyone confirm this bug is specific for iOS 15.2?
I’m noticing the same thing and it has only recently started happening. I’m either seeing all the previews in the Home app as black or a snapshot that is several days old. Quitting the app temporarily resolves the black screen problem but then shows an old snapshot. Clicking on any of the cameras brings up the live feed but closing the window brings back the old snapshot.
Does this still hold true after a reboot?
I have the home app and home+ and best & google apps…
