Screen Time not working on Tiktok, Snapchat, Instagram?

Screen Time not working on Tiktok, Snapchat, Instagram. I've been trying to block these apps for months. I've tried everything from factory resetting the phone to getting a new phone and still those app will continue to work after the downtime and app limit. Ive seen other questions about the issue and it seem that Apple doesn't have a fix nor are they trying to fix a common issue. So what other option for controlling those apps on ios devices?

I figured it out. I had the same situation with my child's phone (iphone 11 ios 15.4): instagram, tiktok, twitter, pinterest.. all these apps where not blocked. Removing screentime, rebooting, changing time limits didn't work. Try the following:

  1. Go to Screen time on your child's device.
  2. Click on Always Allowed.
  3. Approve all the apps that you want to block (in my case I added all social media apps)
  4. Once you add all the apps go back to the previous setting screen and then close the window (swipe up)
  5. Open again screen time and now go to the Always approve and remove the apps from the always allowed list.
  6. Go back to the previous setting screen and close the settings app (swipe up).

This should fix the issue. Hope this helps. This worked for me :)

Hi. I am unfortunately experiencing the same problem. I deleted tiktok and don’t have the app on my phone. Still, after activating ALL possible restrictions, tiktok still opens every time in my safari browser. I have inserted several different damson names in the restriction processe via direct website blocking in the settings.

COULD YOU PLEASE SOLVE THIS ISSUE APPLE???!!!!!!!!

why doesn’t it work on this website? What’s the matter ?

Amen to all that has been said. Major source of contention for my teen with ADHD and little to no self regulation. This is the biggest source of contention in our house too. Called apple and they told me my child had figured out my code. Started changing it every day. Didn’t make a difference. His limits randomly changed too. Bother Apple nor my cell phone provider could help at all. Major problem in apple’s parental controls.

This is not a bug. This is completely intentional. Apple profits from these companies and opens access. It's 2023 and you still can't block Snapchat. They advertise themselves as the safest phone and, at the same time, poison our kids. This is how it works. Apple I think I start to understand they way you are doing business now. Unfortunately, I believed you more than you deserved. There are no excuses after so much time that you can't block the app. Is a third-party vendor breaking your rules? Why don't you kick them out of appstore then, huh? Cause you love double standards just like any other dem in this country

All the same points as everyone here for me and it's infuriating. I can work with some quirks within screen time like having to restart it for things to load but when a feature is straight up not working and it's so blatantly obvious, now I have a major issue.

It's so clear that Apple and Snapchat are in bed with each other it's not even funny! And no one has to take ownership over it because everyone just makes a profit regardless. Support? hah! How about a death loop of not being to talk with anyone?

Snapchat is toxic in most ways but when used mildly appropriately, it can be a fun way to talk with people. It's a bummer it's about the money... Do better Apple, Jobs would have...

It’s April 2023… this garbage is still broken…. Updated to latest iOS on all phones, set app time limits for both my kids’ phones…. 2 days later, app limits gone…. I set up app limits again…. 3 days later…. Gone! My kids’ mental health is taking a beating and you had an opportunity to help… And don’t blame it on 3rd party BS… You have a closed ecosystem and your proprietary nonsense to combat these very issues…. Fix your garbage and stop ignoring these issues!

I cannot disable snap chat and Tik Tok during downtime (for my preteen). I’ve tried everything

✅ In settings -> I have toggled “block

at down time”

✅ I have deleted all apps in “always allow” so there is *nothing* in that collum. I powered down and powered up the phone after doing this.

✅ every single app EXCEPT Tik tok and snap chat are in downtown mode. So I know it’s working for the other apps

Why can’t I block the two most important apps to block at downtime??!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Glad to see that other people are having the same experience. I've convinced Apple is just turning the other way on all of this.

So far I have not found any type of fix but I will say, sometimes it will work just fine and then a week or two later, all of the settings get reset for screentime and various things. (My kid does not know the password).

Shenanigans. Apple, do better, c'mon!
