iPad with 15.3.1 iOS update load e-mails very slowly

Updating to the latest iOS (15.6) cured the slow email uploads for me

• Close and reopen the app

Force the app to close. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

• Restart your device

Restart your iPhone or restart your iPad. Then open the app to see if it works as expected.

If this continues, does this happen with every Wi-Fi network you connect your iPad with or only when it’s connected to a specific network? If something else is happening, please provide more details and if you are getting an error of some kind.

Same here, started about a month ago. Gave up and loaded Gmail’s client as all accounts are gmail. Always loads in one second. Apple mail client: 20-25 seconds. Like it’s using the wrong port and has to time out and use another one. No idea what it’s doing.

Makes no sense when the Gmail client always works in literally a couple of seconds.

This was fixed for me yesterday with the iOS 15.5 upgrade. So far I believe it is working normally again.

I also had success with deleting the app and re-loading it.

I totally reset the entire iPod and restored it from an iCloud backup. That is the only thing that worked for me.

Oh, so sorry didn’t work for you as did for me.

Have you tried updating to 15.5 as your post said 15.3 and the latest is now iOS 15.5?

This is now fixed for me with the upgrade to IOS 15.6 today

They Did, update your iPad with the latest IOS 15.6

I can confirm that iOS 15.6 resolves the issue with the mail program.

My iPad mail has been painfully slow for months. I tried all of the recommended fixes but to no avail. I just upgraded to iOS 15.7 and problem solved!

This does not help on the bug but while I had the issue I moved to gmail app for gmail and outlook app for work email. They work well. I still prefer iOS mail app so as 15.5 made things ok for my iPhone again, I moved back. But I am finding very odd that Apple is not fixing this for everyone after all this time. They must have the data that says which device models, os versions, etc have the issue.

Oddly, since I installed the gmail app, the iPad Mail seems to be working better! So if you are having problems, you might like to try this and see if it works for you too. Maybe it clears some sort of backlog.....

I have to say I prefer using iPad mail when it is working- I can’t work out how to stop gmail app from adding my sent Mail replies to the threads in my inbox - irritating!

We are having the same problem. Click on Mail App and get white screen. Have to wait a minute or 2 or 3 before it comes up, while the wheel in the right corner spins. I restarted the iPad, deleted the mail app and restarted, then reinstalled. Still no good. My next step is delete the mail app, delete all the mail accounts, then restart the iPad, reinstall mail and sign into all mail. Hope this works.

I deleted it and removed and re added my accounts.
