iPad with 15.3.1 iOS update load e-mails very slowly

I am having the same issue. Mail does not open. Blank white screen. Sometimes just shuts down itself. Opens after about 45 seconds. Happens on all wifi networks.

very aggravating! Shutting the app and turning the iPad off doesn't do anything. Not happening on my iPhone. Only the iPad.

I’m having the same issues. I’ve tried every suggestion given. Come on Apple, help us out. This is so frustrating and aggravating as I use my iPad more than anything. There is no valid excuse for this as it’s been a known problem for months now!

I have this identical problem on my iPad mini, and oddly, I am not even on ios15!

All was working perfectly a week ago, I have been away without the device so haven’t changed anything, and suddenly the email is unusable.

Apples tech guy wanted me to ‘upgrade’ to 15 or remove and reinstall my email accounts, but as there are 2 of them and they are both still working perfectly on other devices, the problem is clearly with apple’s software.

He even said if I experienced problems after upgrading, they would refer to tech team to sort! Ridiculous that customers should be expected to do their debugging for them ....

The iPad is less than a year old - this is clearly unacceptable

Just deleted the mail app, rebooted, reinstalled it, no change. Can’t even click on Google to load the first account. Def seems like there is something blocking the connection. Good thing the gmail app works! (This is on my iPhone but there is no difference between an iPhone and iPad especially when on Wi-Fi).

Mine is sort of working, but very slow...

Unfortunately I don’t just have gmail, I have a talktalk email too, so using the gmail app won’t be a complete fix for me, but I might have to resort to that if I get irritated enough 😬

My iPad is less than a year old and still under guarantee, so there should be some recourse for a product not fit for purpose

I tried this suggestion on my own a week ago, worked for a short while and back again to the same problem. I’m using a different email client till the programmers at apple get off their thrones and fix the issue.

Agree. Quality control is lacking on updates, in particular for older devices. I dread updates. With more than 12 Apple devices in my household (from new to 4 yrs), it’s a massive time suck troubleshooting all the resulting issues. It’s also frustrating how frequently some of my favorite features disappear and new user interfaces are released — way too frequently for busy humans to adapt to.

I have the same problem, emails take forever to download, also when finally you get your emails, if you get into any application, once you go back to see your email, one more time the page is in blank and you have to wait for a while for them to show up.

Only my year old iPad has this problem loading emails - my phone is fine. It started when I updated to 15.4. I’ve called support twice but they were useless. I’ve also sent email complaints twice to Apple but never even got a reply. Somebody at Apple really dropped the ball on this. It’s so frustrating when my emails finally open and they have a link for me or an attachment, this whole thing starts all over again EACH time when I close the attachment and go back to my emails - NOTHING BUT A BLANK SCREEN AGAIN. I’m considering dropping Apple iOS if they don’t wake up and fix this issue. In my opinion, Apple has become quite unprofessional - they seem more interested in selling product than anything else. After 4 attempts to talk to someone in the know on this only exemplifies the fact that APPLE DOES NOT CARE!

Thank you all for the replies. I will try the mail app removal and reload. As I recall when I last deleted and re added a large mail account it took a long while to reload successfully and took two attempts.

I cannot fully answer question on loosing mail but with hotmail and gmail it was fine as they are held on the web with a copy on your device.

Having trouble with slow loading email. I deleted the mail app, went to App Store and reloaded the mail app. Going back to sign on it asks which mail account. iCloud, Microsoft exchange, Google, yahoo, aol, outlook. Which do I choose?

I have the same issue with my iPad on OS 15.5. Some times the Mail app launches just fine, others it boots up but hangs for 30-45 seconds before loading the actual emails. No problems on my laptop nor iPhone. Very frustrating.

I now hate my iPad Pro..it loads Apple mail so slowly where as a main application I use, this device is pretty much useless to me now. Apple..please stop the goofy conferences and fix these software messes! Thanks.

I did do it this way twice. Still not working correctly. It will now let me read and access 2-3 emails before going back to blank screen and starting all over again😏😡

She did tell me she’d discuss it with her supervisors and they would be in touch with “the powers that be” if it didn’t work after restoring it. I guess they won’t know since she never got back with me😗

I, too, am experiencing this annoying bug with opening my emails on my iPad Pro. While one is a little relieved to see others having to deal with this (so not being the only user on the planet going slowly mad trying to view one’s mail) the number of us suffering must surely prompt Apple to fix this, and fix this fast. I don’t use emails for work - just family stuff, hobbies, entertainment and general rubbish - and I’m frustrated, so you unfortunates who need this app for your businesses, well, I feel for you, I really do. Updates are supposed to fix things, not cause worse problems!!
