Midi stopped working with iOS 15.4

Hey Hammer, any news on your efforts with apple support?

do you have a reference ticket number? I’ll open a case as well and recommend everybody to do the same. More tickets = higher urgency = quicker fix.

I got the IRig midi 2 yesterday. It was a lil quirky getting it to work the first time, but everything worked fine with no issues. Just have find a place to secure it on my travel board.

iOS 15.6 working fine except for Ravenscroft275 in AUM have to figure that out, but I’m happy.

It’s because of our efforts that they fixed it in 15.6 finally. Good job everyone

I solve my problem, i just change the keyboard, my 17 y. old Yamaha for a new Casio oxygen 61 m-audio.

It works for me also with a Yamaha P-125 B

And also update my iPad Pro 2017, iPhone 11 to iOS 15.4.1

And everything, all apps I have are working just fine

Yep. No midi apps work on my brand new IPad. Connecting to a Yamaha CP4, all apps crash. I could get one app working with an old Oxygen 49 controller. Strangely, I have Ravenscroft on my phone which is the same iOS version, and that works fine (except not usable because Apple removed the headphone jack). 🙄

Help I have this issue too. My piano will no longer connect and the apps requesting it will crash (simply piano) if I have the connection at the program start. If I plug in once the program is loaded the app does not detect the midi keyboard. I have the iPad pro 2021 version, 15.4.1

So I started doing inventory on the boards that I play. My travel board Yamaha Mx61 doesn’t work. I’ll get the IRig for that situation. My Yamaha P115 does along with a M Audio midi controller(it’s older). I have to check a Casio Privia on Saturday to see if it works. But based on what I’ve seen keyboards released 2015 or later are not affected and the one before 2015 are affect which is weird because Midi 2.0 didn’t come out until 2020. Hope this info helps

I have this problem also. Yamaha DSG640 worked great with SimplePiano on my iPad Pro as recently as two weeks ago. Sat down today to play and it just crashes/hangs. So does GarageBand, and midiwrench. If I unplug the USBA the apps work.I have usb from key board to USB A to C dongle.

I always play with iPad Garage Band, Usb controllers and audio interface. Today i noticed that iOS doesn’t support MIDI and USB interface anymore. Apple, please, i worked well with you hardwares and softwares, as well as i spent much money to buy correct hardwares. This is a very bad joke…

just stopped working for me today. Was playing on my Yamaha-125W, went for a break, came back, plugged in my iphone 12 pro and got “device is not supported”. I’ve been using SimplyPiano for 6 months without issues. Today just stopped working without any changes.

Same problem. All midi apps when Steinberg UR 44C connects to USB C fails. This is garbage, and it is the update. Never a problem in the past and I’m sorry, I’m not going to replace my entire rig, which is exceptional, to accommodate a clear error of omission.

I can no longer use SimplyPiano with my iPad Air 4.

If I start SimplyPiano with the keyboard connected the app crashes at startup, if I connect the keyboard after SimplyPiano is started, the keyboard is not presented to the app.

I tested another MIDI app which is moog, but it can not see any MIDI keyboard.

Anyone knows if this behavior is occurring with some versions of MIDI? Or, is this occurring with all MIDI devices?
