After recent update of 15.4 in iphone11 I am facing this problem. When I hit share button on any app (photo, document,notes) app freezes and doesn’t work further. I can close app forcefully but that doesn’t solve problem. After this phone ring tone goes silent automatically. No ringtone no vibration nothing. All starts working fine after I restart till I hit a share button. If I hit share button the cycle continues. It all stated after 15.4 update
All - I have not faced the issue since the last 9 days!, so I'm somewhat hopeful the issue may have got resolved for my Iphone 13 Pro on iOS 16.1
Steps that I took:
Since then, 9 days have passed without the issue. Today, I've reinstalled SwitftKey and will see if it causes any issues. After 1 week of no issue, I'll also reenable my office email by accepting the management profile/settings.

Correct. Mine also worked for 3-4 days after upgrading to 15.6 but yesterday the issue reoccured while sharing a screenshot. So even 15.6 has no fix for this issue.
I don't think Apple is even considering this as an issue otherwise there are multiple updates after 15.4 but issue still persist.
In my opinion they may have changed something in their libraries around sharing stuff across apps in 15.4 and this issue appear to unforeseen side effect, otherwise why would sharing something should lead to ringtone goes silent. No logical link between sharing something and ringtone getting silent...
No, apple seems to be ignoring it. I spoke with Tech support and they had no clue. I took the phone to the local apple store, and they wanted me to wipe it clean, reinstall, and many other circus. It works for a day after all these song and dance, and then back to square 1. It is frustrating.
Replacing the phone will not solve this problem. I have upgraded my phone from iPhone 11 to iPhone 14 due to this issue only but same issue is coming on my new phone as well. I have also updated to the latest iOS 16.1 but no relief.
Problem persists with iOS 15.7.1 … have to do a complete shutdown of iPad and restart almost every time I need to use the share button. Once it starts, it won’t even let me copy a photo to paste into an email.
this problem is serious. When you share multiple documents, pictures, etc. “share” feature freezes. The only way around is to reboot (I have iPhone 8 Plus” and iphone 14 pro max). The latest flagship phone also has the same issue. IOS version 16.2.
Apple, fix it please. This is very annoying.

I have the same problem and this is after updating to 15.4.1. Sharing used to work fine before that but it’s freezing when trying from Photos or even when taking a screenshot and trying to share. In fact I have observed same problem trying to hit the share icon on Google app I.e trying to share a URL/link.

i have tried restoring my phone twice after complete backup but the problem is not going anywhere . it has become a nightmare for me . thinking of replacing the phone now .
i have to restart every time this happens

I am also facing this issue, once share is clicked it just freezes. Restart helps for couple of days but the issue comes back. Iphone 12 pro max + ios 15.5. Apple team please fix this issue, it's really bad one and causing too many unnecessary restarts.
I am facing same issue. If I hit share button from any app (gmail, whatsapp, from photos) phone hangs and I need to forcefully close the app but sharing never happens. This is very frustrating when you cannot even use your own email from phone to send important documents. My IOS is 15.5 and iphone XR
Same phone here with same update & I just got this phone a few months ago. Every time I try to share anything, phone freezes, and keyboard disappears anywhere from 10-30 seconds. If I close all apps and do a hard restart, it works for a few hours to a day or two before it starts freezing again. Please fix this issue Apple. It’s so inefficient!

It has been more than a year I’m facing this issue (after iOS 13 upgrade). Looks like after every some time Share module freezes. It affects all apps and never fixes until restart. After restart Share function works for a week and same freezing starts.
iOS lately getting some persistent bugs. No way apple don’t know about this. Either they don’t know yet how to fix or forcing users to buy brand new devices.
It worked for some days I.e. after 15.4.1 update. But problem started again since last two days. While I press share button app hangs and not get any caller tone for incoming calls.
On the advice of Apple support, I took a backup and totally reset my phone (by connecting to iTunes on my laptop and doing a reset). The OS is also the latest (15.6.1). YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
That’s true. I can’t believe Apple has not realized that there is a serious bug in iOS that needs to be fixed asap.
