Two Message Toggles In iOS 15.5
I haven’t noticed this prior to iOS 15.5. There are now TWO toggles with iOS Settings > Apple ID > iCloud for Messages. The upper toggle would switch Messages on/off in iCloud.
What does the lower toggle do?

What does the lower toggle do?
I regularly use a 3 line C program I wrote 20 years ago (it prints the text for *nix error codes). It has 2 bugs that I don’t bother to fix, because to fix them would require a lot more than 3 lines, and would probably introduce additional bugs.

I have this for messages and photos as well. Already have been in touch with Apple and they currently have no explanation…
I use 2 factor but never had keychain on by default when setting up a new device. 🤔
That would make sense for messages. The duplicate photo toggles however I am not sure as I haven’t used iCloud photos on the 8 or iPad.
