Hey there sagarshah1983,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, have you ensured that all the settings for the apps are set up correctly using the 'Related Article', Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support that was shared on this thread?

For this particular issue, we'd recommend ensuring that you have a notification sound selected for the apps you're not hearing notifications for using the steps under the "Change alert styles " section.

Change alert styles
1. Go to Settings and tap Notifications.
2. Select an app under Notification Style.
3. Under Alerts, choose the alert style that you want. If you turn on Allow Notifications, choose when you want the notifications delivered—immediately or in the scheduled notification summary.

With iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 or later, you can turn on Critical Alerts for supported apps so notifications come through even if your iPhone is muted or you have a Focus set up.

If still having issues, we'd also recommend checking for any Focus features that may be enabled and preventing notifications from being received as expected. For help with checking your Focus settings, check out this next link here: Use Focus on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

Keep us updated on the results.

Have a great day!

I have had the same problem now for a few months, and when I read some of these threads, it led me to the upper right drop down menu (charging, signal strength). When I looked at the options, I noticed my airpods were still synced even though I hadn't used them in a day or so. When I disconnected them, my notifications started again. Not sure if that's your issue, but it may help if you use airpods also.

I got mine fixed today at the Apple Store! Two things- 1. Phone won’t ding if you are wearing your watch paired to your phone. Either turn off Bluetooth or put your watch on the charger (or turn it off) and it will work fine. 2. Turns out I had a vpn on my phone and it was causing issues. As soon as we took that off then my notification was audible! I hope this helps you!

I'm having the same problem after upgrading to IOS 16.4 on an iPhone 14; At least with the Messages app. For me, it only fails to make the sound when the screen is locked and Bluetooth is on. If I turn bluetooth off in settings, I get the sound with the screen locked, as usual. I did not have any earbuds or a watch or anything else connected to bluetooth.

This has been driving me nuts. I went to settings > Sounds & Haptics, I looked at the Text Tone option, since I was no longer getting text tones, It showed "doorbell" which was my selected tone, however after opening the text tone option, "none" was selected and doorbell was nowhere to be found anymore! IDK what happened to it, as it's still possible to select doorbell for other things such as mail. I then went through all of the options and noticed that the selected sounds for several of them were defaulted to "none". Come on Apple, get it together!

I don’t think so. I keep the Apple Watch turned off ( just don’t enter the passcode), that way text sounds come thru on the iPhone. they will still come through on the watch without sound and you will still receive phone calls. you will need to enter the passcode if you want to do something else on the watch but it’s not that big a deal. it saved me from missing messages

I have been on with support for a couple hours, if you have this problem and you have an Apple Watch this is how they say it is supposed to work because if you have your watch on that is where you’re getting notifications, it’s an extension of your phone, and that is by design. When speaking with the technician, I told him with the same watch, and my previous version of the iPhone that is not how it worked, he tells me that’s how it has always worked. He then told me I could suggest a feature at Apple.com/feature, To suggest the ability to get notifications on your phone when it’s locked if you have your iwatch on. I hope all of you also make that suggestion and maybe we’ll get this fixed!

A lot of suggestions but the challenge is figuring out what may work because it's erratic. I too, have had this many years all the way back to my iPhone X and seem to have tried EVERYTHING. ~1 week in and someone suggested changing the Messages setting on my iWatch away from "Mirror my iPhone" to "Custom". I tried this and it seems to be working. Again, about 1 week so far so we'll see but try this if you haven't yet.
